Sisters of Battle just got updated, but Taddeus the Purifier was not added to the codex.

His War Hymn ability is worded differently from the standard missionary's war hymn because he still has the old rule that's just straight-up +1 attack without having to roll for it.

Is this intended to stay the same?

If it's not in the Codex, he's supposed to disappear an be used moving forward as a standard missionary.

I can't condone a place where abusers and abused are threated the same: it's destined to doom, so there is no reason to participate in it.

Really? That's obviously the intent, but to use a different example, Daedalosus was obviously replaced by the Technoarcheologist in the new Adeptus Mechanicus Codex, and as far as I'm aware there's technically nothing stopping you from still using him in a 9e Adeptus Mechanicus army; his datasheet is still floating around, it still has the ADEPTUS MECHANICUS faction, and it's still valid for 9e.

I could be wrong, of course, and I haven't read the new codex, but I don't see why the same wouldn't apply to Taddeus.

Hell, as far as I'm aware, there's nothing stopping you from taking a Tech-Priest Enginseer from the Astra Militarum codex in a Adeptus Mechanicus army; he'll lose a pip of BS, have a worse pistol, and go to a 6+ invulnerable save with no DOCTRINA ASSEMBLER keyword, but he costs 20 points less, he's Elite instead of HQ, and he can repair Knights.

EDIT: Also, this is the wrong forum for rules questions.

Both Taddeus as Missionary and Pious as Preacher, became more powerful than they ever were as named characters; they lost nothing, but gained the ability to use hymns, and Pious got a stat bump too.

I had designed a part of my campaign specifically to allow the cannonical Taddeus and Pious to join my army without breaking the lore, but honestly, you're far better off to use them as a generic missionary/ preacher combo.

The Missionary in the new Codex Adepta Sorotitas has Thaddeus the Purifer's weapon loadout as the default wargear. In addition to the new Priest rules with War Hymn and a second hymn of your choice, you gain a point of Leadership and the Emboldened by Prayer aura. Not shabby for 45 points.
