Playing around with an idea I had a while back:
Kabal of the Obsidian Rose Patrol
Master Archon (
Djin Blade, Blast Pistol,
Hatred Eternal)
10 Truebown (2x Blaster, Dark Lance)
5 Incubi
5 Scourges (4x Heat Lance)
5 Scourges (4x Heat Lance)
Raider (Dark Lance)
Raider (Dark Lance)
Raider (Dark Lance)
Kabal of the Poison Tongue Patrol
Master Archon (Agoniser,
Soul Seeker, Soul Thirst)
[Warlord]]
4x Sslyth
10 Truebown (2x Shredder, Dark Lance)
5 Mandrakes
5 Mandrakes
Venom (2x Splinter Cannon)
Venom (2x Splinter Cannon)
Venom (2x Splinter Cannon)
Cult of the Cursed Blade Patrol
Succubus (Archite Glaive,
Triptych Whip, +1A Drug)
Succubus (Shardnet & Impaler,
Quicksilver Fighter, +1S Drug)
5 Incubi
5 Wyches (Blast Pistol, +1S Drug)
5 Wyches (Blast Pistol, +1S Drug)
9 Reavers (Power Sword, 3x Heat Lance, +1BS, +1Ld Drug)
2000pts (8CPs)
Mostly just a fun idea that will hopefully be at least reasonably competitive. I was thinking along the lines of every character being an assassin, though on reflection I imagine that's really just par for the course with Succubi. Oh well.
Warlord Archon goes with the Sslyth in one of the Venoms. He's the only shooty assassin in the list (mainly there just to mix things up a bit). Probably won't be as effective as the others, though he is a little more flexible. He'll probably aim to either soften up characters or else finish off damaged ones while his Sslyth just go after infantry with their Poison 3+ shooting.
Other Archon goes with the Incubi in the second Venom and will aim to crack a harder target.
The Shardnet Succubus will accompany the other Incubi unit in the final Venom. She doesn't buff them directly but does open the possibility of tying up a unit in combat if the Incubi aren't able to kill it.
Other Succubus goes with the 2 Wych units in a Raider.
Trueborn obviously take the other Raiders and provide some fire support. Reavers and Scourges will do likewise with the latter deep striking onto the board. Mandrakes will probably go for objectives but are pretty flexible in general.
One of the ideas relating to the assassin theme is that although characters all start with units, as soon as an opportunity arises they'll split off and attempt to assassinate enemy characters. Since they're all cheap, glass-cannons they should have a good chance of trading up (I won't send them after Platoon Commanders or such
). No idea if it will work out that way but that's the theory.
Any feedback or suggestions would be welcome.
