Most artillery that used to have crew rules simply dont include the crew in the rules anymore, also the rules say "one model" so do you need to include the crew for your artillery battery?

If you remove the crew you make its footprint smaller, making it easier to hide. which can be considered modelling for advantage.

That makes sense, is that how tournaments would see that? The crew must be on the table?

I had the same question a while ago and solved it like this (just as a possible inspiration):


So it's pretty easy to switch from with crew to without Crew, however it is needed

I dont know how tournaments would see that, but its possible that they say that the crew must be on the table.

Well it depends on the TOs actually. Those who demand the current base sizes for the models would definitely demand the crew to be on the table as well.

Every tournament has its own set of home rules, never forget that. There might be general consensus about some rules but always ask the TOs, there's nothing guaranteed about matters like base sizes or models' footprints.
