Actually, I think Lakeview Terrace was a mixed-race couple, which was was part of Sam Jackson's problem. No Race Mixing, darnit.

This movies's from BET, and it's a race based (and I use this term loosely) psychological thriller.

I'll save any true judgement until I have truly experienced it. That being said, this looks awful.

If the movie is anything like the trailer it plays on racial stereotypes, "Lawman Bad" tropes, and will likely stoke division. Do better BET.

But the big question on everyone's mind...is it better than The Legend of Karen; A pain in the ass?

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

No no, you don't bring out the prequel until AFTER it bombs at the box office

The Wastes of Krieg

If I’m bored I might watch it. Seems kind of interesting. That said I’m sure this movie isn’t for everyone, but I’m usually one to ignore the social message or context of a film and judge it solely on whether I find it good or not.

It's not, but certain places are trying to shift the meaning to fit their own aims.

You're picking nits here. One could argue that Karen started as a mutation of the 'let me talk to your supervisor' stereotype, but the idea of a meddlesome white woman who takes it upon herself to question the right of black people to exist in her presence has existed since the 19th century, where she was known originally as 'Miss Ann' and more recently, 'Becky', but these days it decidedly is 'Karen.'

Anyway, the movie looks like a fun American horror movie of the 'scary person outside my house wants inside my house' subgenre, like Swim Fan. Not nearly enough aliens for my like but to each his own.

I'm confused by the idea that this kind of film has anything beyond a (tragically simple) social message or context.
If you ignore that, is there anything left?

The harrowing tale of a woman who needs to defend her home and family from a psychotic killer even while the systems of law and order that are supposed to protect her dismiss her concerns as hysteria or worse?

It’s basically the Purge, but real slow? Or Maniac Cop, but uh, just Cop.

Am I really the only one who remembers movies about a lone stalker chasing after someone who nobody believes as a major facet of the slasher movie genre?
