Hi guys.

I always loved Superheroes and I started my carrier as a 3d Sculptor long time ago. I was working for big companies since ever and after a while I wanted to do my own Superheroes characters.

I'm developing an APP that you can customized your Super and downloaded like STL to print.

I used to work in big scales, 10-20 inches but I think that is too big for almost everyone , that's why the scale of my superheroes App are between 32-40 mm (Miniature). Of course It can be scaled to bigger size.

I'm still developing the App and try to launch a Kickstarter project in a future.

Let me know if you have any suggestion.

Here I have attached a file that you can download.

Thank you!

Hi Guys, finally I uploaded the App to a web site.
I need your feedback guys and let me know any improvement I can make.
The Size of the UI is still on progress. There are a few issues with the icons but everything is working.
Take a look and let me know.
Thank you!

Interesting, I'm not a huge superhero fan but nice sculpts.
How are the meta options suppose to work?
I can't really tell the difference between them other than certain part fields having more options.

As you can see on the top, There are two options.. (it's small I know). One of the options is a guy with the hammer and the other is a guy like jumping.
You can change the Suit parts on the Right..
I was trying to figure out the poses, but I took the option that certain poses are better with other legs and I reserved that option for a Vigilante option.
I want to create a Female and a Bulky guy option.

Hammer guy icon makes me think the base mesh will be melee-specialist options. Where as the other one is cape character with gun.
But is the icon with the hammer supposed to load a character holding a hammer? Because clicking either is loading a guy with two pistol-like weapons.
The key difference I see between them is one has more upright poses and the other mid-air action poses.

I see what you mean.
You can make the symbol and cape disappear, just clicking on the "Sphere" in booth options.
I'm trying to figure out more options for those guys and I'm still adding a few more options.
I'll try to get funds for a in a KS project in October-Nov, maybe and see what happens.

So far it looks pretty impressive, TBH.

Not sure how much of that will print well, though.

On the first post there's a link for download a mini that I created in this App.
And thank you for the compliment man!

Yes, and a more muscular guy like the Green guy.

Ok, so I did a first print test. Supports were done kind of fast and dirty, but they held without issue (no wonder, as the mini is quite thin):

As you can see, detail is very good and it printed quite well. I did need to fix the mesh first, though, as it had some artifacts and holes, but Window's 3d Builder took care of that easily.

The main problems I have with the mini is that it doesn't seem to be designed as a mini, first. Height wise it is the "usual size", but as the proportions are very human-like (or even smaller, as the head is probably too small for the body) they end up way too thin.

I mean, when your minis look spindly in comparison with female Infinity models, you know there's a problem

When compared with a more "classic" GW-like model, the difference is much more apparent, of course:

As you can see, base size is also... well, too small and too big at the same time xD. It's much smaller than the regular 25mm of diameter, but it's also a scenic base which takes up a lot of resin and obscures part of the mini above it, making supports placement harder than it could be.

Even so, it is a great mini, very cool and turns out great, but the default size, even if the right height, makes the parts too thin and prone to breakage. It will probably print much better bigger, but the it will be way too big for most people's rest of their collections. Which might not be a problem at all in and of itself, partly because you can just use minis at that size if you have a fething printer , and also because I'm not sure of the scale of Marvel Crisis Protocol minis and Batman, which would probably the ones people would want to use with these.

Personally, I think it would be cool if the base could be printed separately from the mini (maybe with pegs on the feet) to make supportin them easier, and I'd tweak both with the proportions (making them more "heroic" and defined to allow for the transfer to physical model) and the details, in both cases to make them sturdier and easier to print.

All that said... very cool

Wow, that's a really good feedback.
Maybe I need to scale it a little bit (130%) and make the head bigger.
I'm setting up the final product with separates files..base, body and all together.
Thank you so much for the feedback .
If you want more models just let me know.

Cheers koji, always glad to be of any help

I primed the mini so that the detail could be a bit more noticeable:

I also did some comparison shots with minis from the Batman Gotham City Chronicles minis, which as far as I know are pretty comparable with the MCU and Batman minis games.

For starters, you'll notice that the BGCC game minis are quite a big bigger, most probably to be able to "get away with" using proportions more similar to the original comics without needing to make them too heroic while still being durable (take into account that these minis are in boargame pvc, which is quite a bit more durable than the resin we usually print with: for resin, thicker would be better for anything expected to be handled).

Also, the proportions more similar to the ones the builder has as of now are the ones from the teenagers are heroines:

...and also the freaks

Even with these, you'll notice how some parts, particularly heads and hands, tend to be exxagerated, both to better be able to put detail on them and for ease of use.

The "regular superhero body" minis tend to be more heroic and buff:

And then you have the "extremely buff or downright monstrous":

Hope this helps show what I meant!

Totally! .
Maybe if you print it a 130% bigger , can make the difference?

The UI was straightforward and intuitive.
The site and model aesthetic was good as well.

Thanks for the feedback.
I want to add more stuff, others characters. Maybe a Bust or something to paint in a bigger scale.

Koji was kind enough to provide me with the sample mini with the split base, which made supporting much easier, so I rescaled it at 125% to see how it looked.

And this is how it looks:

I printed it at 50 microns per layer instead of 20 as I wasn't worried about the detail (rather, dimensions), but at that size the detail looks even crisper, to my eyes.

Then I did a quick round of comparisons (fast potato-phone pics with bad light, but...):

Base size now is standard 25mm

Yeah, it is big, particularly when compared with more "regular miniatures": it's all in the proportions, you see.

Other than the hands and feet being bigger and the general proportions being more cartoonish, there's also the fact that almost no miniatures range adheres to the "human standard" proportions of the whole body being 8 heads tall, and most tend to be about 5-6 heads tall, depending, with some more "realistic" ones being closer to 7 (like Infinity for example).

Your heroes, OTOH, seem to be of the more super heroic comic book proportions of about 9 heads tall... which, when you put them side by side with normal miniatures, make yours freakishly tall and thin if you scale the heads at a similar volume, and that's what you're seeing and why your hero seems so big.

I'm on vacation right now so I won't be able to take more pics this week, but that's the main idea.
