I'm going to be painting several 20 man armies for Pig Wars. Probably two each Viking, and Norman, and maybe three Saxon. I'll be using Victrix for all three. I know they're working on a set of generic archers, and the pics they've released are awesome. I've not seen anything about a release date, though.

Google shows Gripping Beast as the only option I can see for Dark Ages archers. If anyone has used both, and can give me an idea of how they look side by side, I'd appreciate it. I'm ok with close, because they can be replaced when Victrix releases theirs. If one brand makes the other look like midgets or giants, than, prolly hold off on archers.

I *might* be willing to go metal, if there are good options out there.

Thanks.

They are close, with many people feeling Victrix and Gripping Beast minis are on the larger 28 side of things.

I have these pics if they help? might have more soon to help but they show a Wargames Atlantic Irish warrior in the first pick with Gripping Beasts and then he is also compared to Victrix in the second image, so you can kinda gauge the size

I can say they are VERY close to my other 28mm victrix sets, the GB heads make them a slightly more diminutive but if you swap the heads it's not noticeable, especially from 6 feet away when gaming lol

Some victrix models vary a bit too, some have wider chests, some have baby arms, depends on the set. I have a few roman sets and happy to answer questions on them

The GB "puddle" is also a little higher then victrix ones, something to consider maybe
