Hi Dakka,

I have been plugging away at these dudes for a while and have finally finished the 12 infantry squads (plus a few friends) that will form the core of the army.

The backstory is they've been pulled together last-minute from all over the galaxy to serve as the armed forces for an Inquisitor on a mission that had been put off and put off until it suddenly became out of control and needed urgent attention - thus the eclectic mix of regiments.

C&C welcome as always.

Thanks for looking everyone and happy painting 8-)

They look very nice! The bare arm Catachans look even tougher next to all those over-dressed wusses in the snow . What made you choose for the flat bases? Just aesthetic preference? And which models are the flamer guard? Never seen them and I really like them.

Cool army, the basing brings them together well.

Pretty much all the imperial guard regiments are super cool, so I understand the urge to have them all in the same army.

Absolutely fantastic work!

Seeing the Vostroyan and Steel Legion models really brings back memories of my early hobby days!

Thanks for the post!

Thanks everyone! Appreciate you guys taking the time to look and comment.

@Us3Less, the bases came from the first batch of guard I picked up - their previous owner had plans to base them on the plain transparent acrylic, but never got around to assembling them. They were free and they were there and then the rest of the army had to match! The flamer guys are Forge World Solar Auxilia Flamer Section models - I think they are really lovely sculpts, like the entire range.

@Illumini yep, it's a bit of a gotta catch em all approach - if I can get my hands on Mordian, Tallarn and Praeteorians, I might even call it a day...but I love the old 2e ratlings and ogryns as well! hmmm...it never ends!
