Thank you. Spartan Games did go bankrupt... But they sold their IP to Warcradle studios after they did.

And Warcradle studios is now remaking the Dystopian Wars range in mostly plastics (like these Colossus units) with some of the larger ships being resin hulls that use some plastic parts for weapons/generators/smokestacks etc.

The water effects and ice are particularly amazing. The ice on that carrier is really 'wow'. Everything else is great too though!

Thank you.

I've also began on my Teutonic battlefleet. These are operated by the Imperiums Teutonic order, so I wanted to put some slightly different heraldry on these ships.

Magnificent stuff! I used to love Dystopian Wars (more the minis than their ruleset, which was truly one of the worst rulesets I'd ever had the misfortune of encountering ... ! I hope Warcradle is doing a better job!)

And I love that they saw your excellent paintjobs online, and sent you some kits to paint up and share.

That's fantastic.

I play...

Sigh.

Thank you.

I also finished the new super dreadnaught for the Russians. I'm using them as mercenaries mostly though, so I painted them up in the colourscheme of the Black Wolf mercenaries. So I build mine as the Anastasia, but it can make any version with some magnets and a bit of bluetac where needed:

Sweet!

Hey am I right that you need a plastic cryo from the support sprue? Looks like I'll have to buy another squadron, I glued all my Khatangas before noticing I need to save one.

Yes, you do need one of the plastic cryo generators. You kind of have to turn 1 of the support cruisers into a Pravda because of it. I plan to pick up a Mozhayski battlefleet to go alongside the big Murmansk box and the starterset Russian half.

That should leave me with tripple Khatanga ships and 4 stoletov planes, which would work for a cheeky Blackwolf Mercenary fleet to flesh out any fleets that don't have an enormous model selection yet.

Kinda lame they don't throw in a resin cryo considering they make one for the Borodino and it fits perfectly...

The ships are looking beautiful, the terrain is even better though - absolutely loving it! That donut of doom looks excellent as well, great choice of colours.

Looking forward for what is next in line.

Oh snap I didn't even scroll up enough to see the tarrain last time. Epic indeed. Clever use of some Tehnolog terrain bits I think?

Those terrain kits were sold under many different company names, depending on where you live. But yeah, those are the old platformer kits from the early 2000s I think.

I've made a few more bits of rocky terrain for my Dystopian Wars table and decided to record the process.

It's a how to video that requires no special tools, just some XPS foam, a knife, some PVA glue and acrylic paints.

Here is the result:

I want them to look like they alone are the reason for the melting ice caps!

This faction is the scientist faction in the Dystopian Age (and they basically use an alien tech "cheat sheet" for their own technological advancements), so I do want them to look like things might go catastrophically wrong at any time with meltdowns and such.

The Scandinavians in general fall under the umbrella of the Imperium. The true powerhouse nation of the Imperium, are the Prussians (the Kaiser himself is from that nation), but some other states/kingdoms (like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Bavaria) have a fair amount of autonomy and military might of their own within the Imperium. Ultimately though, they all fight for the Imperium, despite having their own "local governments/leadership".

That's the fun bit about how the new Dystopian Wars functions: there are 8 factions (geo-political power blocks) each with t heir own individual nations. You can make a fleet of only 1 of those nations if you want... Or you can collect multiple nations and try to blend them together.

Worth mentioning that in many cases limiting to one subfaction severely restricts the options available to you - Ukrainians having all the submarines in Commonwealth (Black Wolf mercs notwithstanding), for example, or Koreans having all the air units (except Tianlong) in Empire, etc.
