Hey everyone,

So I run an entirely proxy Astra Militarum army, with tons of creative kitbashes and whatnot (honestly it's one of my favorite armies to work with!) and I have been tinkering around with trying to get an all or mostly vehicles list to work at 1k points. I usually run mostly leman russ's (the "Fireball" version is my favorite these days,) but for this list I've been experimenting with moving into other vehicles to experiment with/kitbash with.

So here it is:

[Custom Regiment: Pyromaniacs, Gunnery Experts]

[HQ]

x2 Tank Commanders ("Fireball" variant: demolisher cannon, 3 heavy flamers, storm bolter,) Warlord has up-armored.

[Troops]

x1 group of scions (4x Original Recipe Scions, x2 scions w/plasma gun [extra crispy scions], x1 tempestor [Major: Unwanted Cole-Slaw])

[Fast Attack]

x2 Hellhounds w/heavy flamer

[heavy support]

x2 Carnodons w/dual-heavy-flamers and twin-lascannon

[Total point value]
=999pts, 6cp

What are your thoughts? I think it has a decent amount of both speed and killing power. I can air-drop the scions somewhere (let's be honest: probably to die,) and snag at least one objective that way. The Carnodons and hounds can both zip away and draw fire, while the commanders pick their shots and use stratagems to help eliminate targets. Pretty much everyone has a scary over-watch (burn baby burn!) and also as a bonus gets to actually contribute to the battle if mobbed into close combat (which will happen). I'm not sold on the idea of using the Carnodons with the twin lascannons... but I also know that this makes them a viable threat to everything for a comparatively small point cost. Lastly: I like the idea of making and modifying a few variants that aren't supposed to be super-heavies or russ's... so this does provide a nice challenge with regards to modeling!

Obviously though: I am very much open to suggestion. Thanks for reading!

Honestly, after reading your post I just want to see pictures of your army.

Not a bad selection of tanks (never come across a Carnodon, didn't realise they were playable in 40K). Your firepower is a bit short ranged but with the size of 40K tables today that might not be a bad thing.

I feel that you're going to have a hard time taking and holding objectives. Your limited number of Scions aren't going to help much in that regard.

Personally I would take more troops, though that goes against the theme of your army and I might just be saying that because I'm not a big fan of tanks, prefer my Imperial Guard in the infantry variety.
