I have a question about the Gargantuan Squiggoth specifically, but I think it applies to all ork lord of war transports (mork- and gorkanouts, (kustom) stompas and kill tanks. The gist is this: It's an amazingly cool model, and it's main function is as a tough transport. However, you'd never want three in a normal tournament. Thus, I would like to take one in a super-heavy auxiliary support detachment.

Now comes the catch:
Units in a super-heavy auxiliary support detachment are not allowed to have a clan. And all the ork transports have the rule that states they can only take <clan> units or flash gitz with them. Obviously you could still fill it up with flash gitz, but I'm wondering if the rule is indeed that all other infantry cannot be taken because of this clan rule?

Does anyone have any insight on whether this is the correct interpretation, or is there a different take on this that I'm not seeing (hopefully!)?

That is not true. Units a super-heavy auxiliary support detachment never benefit from detachment abilities. The GS does get a clan kultur, because he has <CLAN>, but it doesnt benefit from it.

DETACHMENT ABILITIES
Every Codex lists a set of abilities that units in a Detachment gain if every unit in that Detachment is from a specified Faction. Units in Auxiliary Support Detachments, Super-heavy Auxiliary Detachments and Fortification Network Detachments never gain any Detachment abilities, even if every unit in that Detachment is from the Faction specified.

As above
They have a Klan, but they do not benefit from the Kultur

As nosferatu1001 said, units in an Auxiliary Super-Heavy Detachment do not benefit from a Klan Kulture. They still must have a Klan per their datasheet.

That's a relief, thanks a lot!
