Okay, you know the drill; theres a film you watched many moons ago but only remember a few things about it and never caught the name of the film. Its time to drag these lost movies out into the open so we can yay or nay to finding out what film we were watching...
Back in the late 80s, I stumbled across a film recorded late one night and being 7 or 8 it went completely over my head. It must have been a horror comedy because these party goers( I think they were? ) were stuck in a film studio( something like that? ) and out of sheer boredom the girls start singing "Stop! In the name of love!" and everyone is roped into it, so to speak. In true horror style the cameraman is picking them off one-by-one and...I remember a cook putting up a fight - comically - before finally being overwhelmed.
I have absolutely no idea what this film is and its driven me up the wall for the last three decades not knowing. Answers on a postcard.
What film have you seen once but disappeared without trace? You must share with us!

Something I saw on German TV when I was little and didn't speak a word. Man and woman hook up, fall asleep after sex. He wakes up, she's not there, he snoops around and finds a bunch of flayed faces in the closet. She comes back holding the tiniest rotary saw I ever seen. They chat through an open door. She seems to adequately explain the rotary saw in her hands as I do not recall any physical altercation happening. That's all I know.

Not so much lost as vaguely remembered short before the main feature (an 80s thang), and this post had me to the interwebs and now fixed this, I remember it was had sort of Excalibur vibe, (but made earlier), a knight, a lady in (or maybe of) the lake and a Black Knight, very strange and kind of went over wee Turnips head, seems its on the yootoobs now so might have as a watch next tine I go 80s

There was a Tales From the Crypt episode very similar to this, where a guy hooks up with a woman who refuses to take off her mask. Long story short, she was born that way and would kill and de-face her lovers when they went too far demanding she remove her “mask”. Automatically Appended Next Post: Samus Drake, I think Goodbadflicks covered the movie you’re talking about, but I can’t remember the title. Might be worth a scroll through their YouTube channel? Automatically Appended Next Post: One for me: I remember flipping through channels and finding a movie where some kind of greebly or sludgy Kaiju is chasing a car (on a highway) through a desert. Would have been before the mid 90’s at the latest.

Kaiju one might be the Blob remake?
There’s a Western I saw decades ago. My only memory is someone being buried alive in the desert. POV is from the victim, and I distinctly remember one of those backwards spade things being used.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the Blob. I think the Kaiju looked a bit like a cross between a Triffid and Titanosaurus, but grizzlier. It also looked lower budget or less slick than the Blob remake.
The car was a station wagon, if that makes a difference.

I had the same thought. I also think it may be two separate movies that have merged in their mind over the years. There are a few horror movies that take place in a movie theater but the singing and/or the cook might be from a different film.

There’s, like, a dozen episodes about some director trying to make a horror-comedy and the studio not getting it, and maybe half of those involve setting the films in movie studios or radio stations or something media-related.

When I was a kid I remember seeing a movie on tv that had a flying submarine that I think could also drill through rocks. Only the vaguest of recollections of it, but I never really got around to figuring out what it was.

I'll look into that, but I think it was a Japanese movie.

I love that someone came up with "Super Fleet Sazer-X the Movie: Fight! Star Soldiers" as a name for a film and it stuck. I imagine its down to the fundamental differences between how japanese and English work, but that is a heck of a name

i have been unable to figure out the first anime i saw. it would have been mid-80s and the hero had a sports car that if i remember correctly drove into and became part of his robot or ship. i dont remember much about it other than at one point he went to the planet Venus and there were like creepy gaseous humanoid creatures there that were hostile. that is pretty much the only scene that i can remember. i have searched around online, i have talked with friends and family, but no one has any idea. ive even asked around in some local hobby shops with no luck. i have no idea if it was good or even if i liked it. to be honest i dont know if it was a movie or just a random episode we had recorded on a vhs tape. i do remember it was on a vhs tape though. even still id like to track it down for a bit of closure.

Late '70s, maybe as late as 1980?. A bad network television series in the USA. It was some sort of space/sci-fi series with a family transported into the future(?)/another world(?). They were being chased around in their van-transport thing by the forces of some BBEG & trying to find a way home.
Only ever saw a few partial episodes & never knew it's title. But even as a kid of between 7-10 I recognized it as crap. I'd be astounded if it lasted a whole season.

i dont think so. the art seems stylized enough that i would remember it and i dont remember it being an ensemble group. granted it could be it and my memory is just gone. either way ill keep searching till i can find an image of the monsters on Venus that confirms it for me.

Maybe the show Otherworld? it looks like it has some time or space jumping and there appears to be a vehicle. it was a short lived series. another possibility might be Ark II. another short lived series that was only notable for its vehicle. this series had a chimpanzee sidekick which i would think might be a memory jogger so i doubt this is the series you are looking for.

Reading its Wikki page, it might well be Otherworld. If it is, it's been slotted into the wrong era in my memory by about 5 years....
Apparently it ran on Sat. evening 8pm-9. Followed by Airwolf - and only lasted 8 episodes. Wich, since I often wasn't home/watching TV at that time, would explain why I never saw a full episode. Sometimes I'd get home in time to catch some amount of Airwolf though. I must of caught the tale end of this thing a few times. And its crappiness must've left quite the impression as I've been vaguely remembering it for 36 years.
Edit: Found it on Youtube & watched it this evening as I built/painted up several Talos.
Yep, that was it.
And it's at least as awful I was remembering. So I'm set to never see it again for another 36 years.
