I am working on these two and am about to buy the Forge world transfers for the Word Bearers and The Salamanders but I noticed that the heraldry and markings for tactical, assault, devastator, etc seems to be not on the sheets or am i missing it somehow, since you really can't get to good a look at them on that site. Can someone help a guy out here?

Some Legions didn't use squad markings, in fact I think most Legions didn't use them.

The "squad markings" that are the force org chart icons are a Codex Astartes thing; during the Heresy you might find Ultramarines marked that way, but probably nobody else.

The small black and white hollow diamonds full of numbers on the Salamanders decal sheet are their unit patches; http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309304-salamanders-cuneiform-code-cracked/ provides an overview of what it all means. The larger square diamonds are battle honors, I don't know if they have specific meanings. I'm pretty sure the Word Bearers had their own battlefield-role icons (there's a picture in one of the books with a pauldron patch labeled "heavy support"), but I'm not entirely sure what they are.

The color plates in the black books are pretty good (but not perfect) in explaining the different markings by type. Bonus, there are generally several unlisted decals on each sheet giving you the option to do as you see fit.
