The bunny ears helmet is iconic, but man that unmasked head with white hair is SICK! Lots of samurai vibes. I was probably going to wait until I got the codex to see if I wanted to buy him or not, but looks like I am now lol.

Might just be the paint job, but that unhelmed head looks a little too WoW Nightelf for me taste.

And also, how is that hair not on fire? He's molten iron, surely that hair would be ablaze?

Really cool model overall and I MIGHT eventually get it. Kinda bummed there isn't a dead Primaris LT on the base. Would have made it an intent purchase, but now it'll only be a maybe.
I know it's cliche at this point, but that art of him standing over a scorched Marine is older than the dead LT base trend of late

I have a dead LT from the Chaos Raptor character (forgot the name), so I'll have to put him on the base for authenticity.

I'm thinking of getting a second one, mutilating it to make it look like it's collapsed, and painting it like hardened stone.

Like it was defeated, and turned into a statue before it could fully crumble to the floor.

Hmm don't think so. Khaine is a proud and jealous god, he wouldn't pander to a new upstart god.

Edit: just rolled back and saw the pic. Oh. Apparently there is.
Fine. Ok. You can make a statue with a face as easily as a helmet. But putting a normal face on the image of your god seems... weird.

I feel like the face is meant to be an intermediate step, the last remnants of the Young King sacrifice before the helm forms and Khaine takes over completely

Weird be doing what we have been doing for...I don't know...thousands of years? And generally when you imagine god you imagine him making his people in his image. What with being supposedly perfection

So on that logic god actually resembling his subjects actually makes sense...

Codex more busted than drukhari before nerfs, so many options

Craftworlds

No Swooping Hawk models

Jain Zar 140 points, very strong
Rangers 13ppm
Banshees 18ppm
Guardian defenders 9ppm
Storm guardians 8ppm, can still take fusion guns and flamers
Shining spears 35ppm, 3-6 model units
>"bad" clarified to compared to 8th version and other 9th units

Autarchs "far from" auto-include
Yriel still meh, no major changes
Maugen ra "more of a meme" than a strong unit
3 warlock skyrunners get 1 power
Wraithlords confirmed elite
Rangers have equipment options
Shroudrunners can only take scatter lasers
Fire dragons burning heat being 9" was pre-playtest, might have gone up to 12" (unsure)
Dark reapers can only be 5 man squad (might be typing error?), 150 points, shuriken cannon free, tempest +10 points, exarch powers all bad
Wave Serpents can take shuriken cannon (some concerns due to the cannon not being on profile)

Only one harlequin weapon strat is interesting
-2 to move and no overwatch is still a thing. Cost 20 tho'.

That's a sword tip.

I am not convinced. It is brighter than the tip on the full image, so you can see the middle line and color gradient better, but it seems the same. Would be cool, though, especially in combination with the bare head.

I wish the Avatar had options that had effects like how the KoS has options now.

Even something as simple as Sword is default or more A, while Axe has more S or Damage, while Spear maybe has more range or shooting strength.

Immediate FAQ... so on the first charge is it D3 + 1 mortal wounds? Or do you only start counting from the second charge?

Then, assuming you charged into that combat (and haven’t been charged yourself) +1 for each Charge you’d made in that game to that point.
