These are the kits you're looking for: https://www.hlj.com/search/?q=hello+kitty+gundam. Note that the red and green Zaku II kits are mostly recolours of each other, but the gundam version uses a different frame as the base, so might not be kit-bashable as easily with the zakus.

JoshInJapan wrote:After seeing this, I did a quick Google search, and boy oh boy are there a lot of Gundam/Kitty crossover models/figures.
These gunpla kits are actually the cheapest models to come out of that crossover. Some of the diecast figures were pretty pricey by comparison.

I hadn't realised they'd made so many. Could this be the only photograph of them all together?

It could be! The guy who runs the Magpie and Old Lead blog has posted pictures of his astropathic choir, but I don't see the astropath from the Regimental Advisors in them.

Well one has a pompadour and an ummm Frostmourne Frost Blade (Frost Frostmourne Blade?) while the other has neither, seems quite obvious to me

Nice progress everyone! We are about a third of the way into the month, so keep an eye on the deadline.

WIP workbench shot:

Just about done with the basecoats. Next up all the washes and drybrushing. At some point I should start the arms/guns.

So much great stuff on every page! Am done with mine (may try to correct Miles a bit, but fear that I will lose red lines when I touch up the black ). Need to try to get some terrain done for some nice shots.

I finished the Alpha Simian:

His paintjob was inspired by the Ultra Humanite, a Golden Age DC villain. The gold disk on his chest doesn't look exactly gold, but I'm not entirely sure how to do NMM on a flat surface like that. He's based for Dreadball, but as he'll likely be spending more time in Deadzone, I have to figure out a basing option for that, as well

Now showing more Samurai Marines, Bad Squiddo Amazons, and an Oldhammer Chaos Thug!

Painting total as of 3/28/2024: 21 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

That’s an awesome monkey. I also thought you had done an amazing job in matching the base colours to the photo backdrop… took me a moment to realise it was just transparent

Mecha-kitty torso complete.

Has anyone experienced gloss varnish lifting paint, even when the paint was try to the touch? I was using The Army Painter gloss varnish diluted 1:3 with water, and while it wasn't stripping the paint, it was lifting enough for there to be colour bleeding into adjacent white areas. I doused the last gunpla I did in a thick coat of neat matt varnish and didn't have this problem.

I know acrylic paint actually takes some time past dry to touch to actually fully set, up to a week as I recall. Might be the other one had had more time to set.

I forgot to take a proof pic, but I have this one I took of the whole horde when I bought it off ebay. The big guy went through very little in the way of changes prior to this month. One base layer of a skin tone while I had some paint mixed up from my clan rat marathon.
Anyway, some progress pics. He's in the hole stage of painting and it pretty much looks garbage. But, a little faith goes a long way. He'll get there.
Antlers coming along, Purple osl is progressing. Need some work on the orb itself.
I haven't touched the armor yet. I just can't decide what color to make it.

I haven't been able to do anything so far, may have to leave the imperial spacemarine for another time, the weather has been so bad also which doesn't help.

Slow progress on the painting this month.

But then I have been busy sculpting a Valkyrie Shrew on the back of an eagle. I blame/credit Vejut for this.

Kravastor is finished:

The official model is black with red armor and bright green lighting effects. Based on my research (or "research," which was just a Google search), most spiders are brown. As loyal readers of my P&M Blog, Paint Everything Brown is one of my trademark techniques, so that's the direction I took. I'm still not very good at lighting effects, but at least you can tell that the blue parts are lit up. Please ignore the mold lines-- this is a Mantic restic model, and thus too much effort to clean.

We'll see if I'm going to be able to finish it.

Nice progress guys.

I am way behind. Had a plumbing issue that required four wall cuts and one ceiling cut to get access to remove the broken pipe. So that has taken a bit of focus away from the challenge. Plus the holidays are fast approaching and I have not finished shopping for Mrs. Captain Brown and Miss Captain Brown yet.

That's useful to know, thanks.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
For once I finished my submission well before the deadline! This was due to it being intended as a gift, so I had an IRL deadline to work to. A bit stressful but I'm reasonably happy with how it came out. So many coats of paint though, I was envying airbrush users while painting this. She's not as posable as I had hoped, but the chibi proportions suit the character.

So I finally got some time to work on the Scavvies last night. Still a WIP.

@CB - you need to make that into some scenery surely! Own the annoyance, and add rules that lets you explodify it in every game
