Buying: I guess I'm buying the new Eldar, seems I don't have much sway in that. My brain is already going through making up a new colour scheme and cool ideas.

Painting/ Building: I'm hoping to finish painting and building my ad mech army up to a reasonable level - maybe 1k points or something so that they reach a reasonable level of completeness before I turn to the Eldar.

Still got the indomitus box to do and now the Kill Team to do as well...

Playing: Still not played a game of warhammer since.. 2006? So maybe this is the year I play a game! Or at least Kill Team

Buying: Limited purchase as most of my armies are relatively completed on that front. New Eldar release might make me buy a few kit, I'm already wanting 1 box of Guardians (if Storm Guardians are worth it, maybe a second box for them), but nothing else from what's been announced, so we'll see what else comes up. But highly considering some Artel W Fire Dragon, that's a likely purchase this year. My Custodes are complete but will need the upcoming book obviously. Any new Tyranids would highly interested me (main army), so whatever they come up with this year are likely purchase. The rest would be hobby supplies, maybe some small scenery piece here and there.

Painting: This year I want to paint my Eldar army. Got a bunch of Artel W minis to paint for them, plus one Start Collecting, a Wraithseer, and some extra metal stuff for them (War Walkers, Wraithlords, a bunch of Warlocks). Also want to finish painting my Cursed City set, the game coming back got me hyped about it again. The rest will be as I see fit, some random Tyranids, Thousand Sons, going with what I feel like painting!

Playing: Starting a crusade campaign with my Eldar versus a friends Catachan, should be fun! Been planning that with my friend for a while now, Covid did not help, be we should be be able to get it going later this year!

Fantasy armies - Retired (Tomb Kings, Vampires, Empire, Chaos Warriors/Daemons, Dark Elves)

Tyranids army - Ever evolving, but about 10k pts
Custodes - 3,500pts (Fully painted yay!)
Thousand Sons - 4,000 pts
Eldar - 3,000pts

Not buying anything but will paint my rogue trader ork army which is almost built, and play a tournament at my local club once every two months, and get to a couple of GT's.

Won't be buying anything. Promise.

Writing - finish that WFRP scenario that's been knocking around my head for more than a year.

A Protoss colony world

Buying: Honestly not sure; no specific plans outside of probably some Stormcast Eternals stuff, along with possibly more things for my Astra Militarum army (fleshing it out into a full army would be nice).

Painting/Building: I've got lots of unbuilt kits for my Space Wolves, so I plan to build those very soon. Painting-wise I'm planning on mainly focusing on my Space Wolves and Dark Angels, but if possible I'm gonna squeeze in some Middle-Earth and Stormcast Eternals stuff too, plus possibly other things if I have time or motivation.

Playing: I'm planning on attending several decent-size Warhammer 40k tournaments, and it looks like our local RTT scene might be about to finally get going again. I'm hoping to maybe also get some Middle-Earth and AoS games in as well.

For more specific goals as far as my hobbying, see my P&M blog.

Buying: probably the army painter contrast stuff when it comes out, anything oathsworn puts out for burrows and badgers, and filling out my unbuilt typhon and sebeki Wargods of Aegyptus armies, maybe re-opening my currently complete basti. Try to keep other purchases to a minimum.

Painting: at least 72 models, at least one 28mm tank. Get up to 4 points of Saga force done for either my female norse or my Rus so I finally have something playable, bonus points if both so I have usable demo forces. Try to finally get one of my started and stalled Typhon units over to the finished pile. Keep my Dakka Painting Challenge entry streak alive for the year by entering each month. Maybe do some terrain.

Playing: Finally get to the historicon Wargods game now that I have a usable army. Start playing Titanicus, ideally start attending a game club regularly if we can get Covid under control.

Buying: This is going to be a bad year. One of my goals is always to paint more than I buy. Probably not going to make that this year. The Eldar release are going to be tough to resist; I suspect I’ll grab most if not all of them. Also planning on getting Cursed City, as i missed that the first time around and am looking for a fun project to slowly add to my Undead army. Picking up a box or two of Nids and/or Marines is also a real possibility.

Painting: With all the new stuff looming, I want to try to get some of my old backlog clear. I’ve got stuff that’s been primed and ready for paint for over 6 years in the pile. I’d like to clear all the currant nids out of the pile; when I started them the goal was to keep them Pile of Shame neutral, but a few have lingered. I’m about halfway to my Primaris battle company. I’d like to add 25 more brothers this year, and finish it off in 2023. And of course, get paint on all the new shinies I buy. My stated painting goal is one mini a week, so 52 for the year. I can do much better, so hopefully can get 75-100 minis done.

Playing: Honestly, I’m not planning on playing any mini games this year. While The Boy is interested in the hobby, actually playing is his least favorite part. And I don’t want to force it on him. With everything going on in the world, not up for pick up games at the FLGS. While I’d be glad to push some plastic around, i’m not going to stress over it.

Writing: Only writing I do is my blog. I try to update at least once a week, and have been doing so for seven+ years now. My full goals and resolutions are over there.

Buying- My goal this year is to reduce my spending on models, but mainly because I've reached a point where I have tons of stuff for all the games I play. The big things are finishing Enclave and buying a Robot force for Fallout, and buying up a Suzume-based Tengu list for Bushido to finish off the factions I want to play for those games

Painting- Catch up and keep up with Malifaux. It's the only one of my main 3 games I have whole crews unpainted

Playing- Try out Fallout and Guild Ball. Bought into both last lockdown, have both painted and ready to go just need to get them on the table. GB will happen fairly soon I think but Fallout is more of a maybe

I mainly play 30k, but am still fairly active with 40k. I play Warcry, Arena Rex, Middle-Earth, Blood Bowl, Batman, Star Wars Legion as well

Buying-Not a goal really hmming and hahhingg about a few more Flesh Eaters models for my Undead army and also more terrain equally I actually really enjoy trash bashing so I'll focus on doing that way mainly Frostgrave and Stargrave. Keep up with the books for them to. Possibly add a few bits to the Algoryn.

Painting-Ideally paint more than I buy with a focus on Frostgrave/Stargrave. Finish Conan and possibly Zombicide Green Plague.

Playing-Keep the Frostgrave campaign going ideally start a Stargrave campaign and hopefully get a regular mass battle fantasy game going as well as restart playing Gates of Antares

Writing-Keep updating my plogs far more regularly than last year aimming for 10 updates at least in a month.

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Hey guys for the new Eldar that people keep mentioning, when are they due?
Was thinking of getting some of the Artel W miniature 'not-Eldar' for use for a 2nd edition army, but if the official ones are coming along I'll wait to see how they compare.

The eldritch omens box is due for pre-orders in February according to the WH community page. So a month or two for them to start to release. Who knows how many waves and what delay though.

Buying: Subscribed to Imperium so that should keep me going for a while. Have my eye on The Crimson Court as well. Any new CSM stuff that takes my fancy.

Painting: Ive a pretty big backlog (who doesnt) so keeping on top of Imperium is a start. Id like to finish off the Start Collecting Flesh Eater Courts boxset I got for xmas 3 years ago now. But mainly get more on the Hobby Bingo this year than last year.

Playing-Dont see a lot of this unless Im messing around at home with my 7 year old. Free time being something of a rarity.

Apart from the Harlequin Codex and Nighthaunt battletome, I'll be spending far less time with GW games. Kill Team and Adeptus Titanicus used to be my primary passions but in recent times have gone down hill, and now wrapping up with final purchases. Might get some of the new eldar and tyranid releases, if they're any good...

Looking forward to more time with Frostgrave, Stargrave, 5 Parsecs and hopefully Xenos Rampant this year. I'm a big fan of the Fighting Fantasy and CYOA books so I'm sure I'll be diving into more of those this year.

On the design side I've been working on two solo game systems; one for small-scale D&D adventures and the other is about big game hunting in sci-fi settings.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Buying:
New eldar releases throughout the year. I'd like to get my 1k of Craftworld up to 2k by the end of the year.
Get my Soulblight Gravelords to 2k -- basically just need skeletons and dire wolves now. Maybe an extra squad of blood knights if I'm feeling fancy at the end of the year.
Add heavy intercessors, a gravis captain, a couple of tanks and a dreadnought to my Lamenters. Should get me to about 1500-2000 points.

Painting:
I paint as I buy and have little to no backlog so... everything above.

Playing:
Would love to play more AoS.
Kind of waiting till 40k gets simpler or I find a garage gaming group before I play that, can't be bothered with all the rules, stratagems etc.

Writing:
That's my day job, so do as little of this as possible, naturally.

Other:
Get my hobby space working great. I took a big stride towards the end of last year, I just need to finish some built-in shelving and add a couple of glass display cases that have long been unavailable from Ikea.

Hobby goals! I will complete none of these, but you have to aim big!

- Finish Ork and Crusade-era World Eater Epic armies, as well as terrain. Play a mega battle/campaign with bunch of mates. (am about 60% on this one)
- Complete Fallout Raider gang + terrain. Play Fallout campaign.
- Finish Aliens: Another Glorious Day in the Corps set and expansions. Organise themed Aliens day to play through with mates.
- Organise Necromunda campaign (finish Genestealer Cult gang, run the campaign as GM)
- Finish complete set of Space Hulk 1st edition (almost there with this one, but those old metal termies are bloody expensive now!)
- Build and paint the A Song of Ice and Fire Starter set
- Sell some of the backlog. I have a rule - if it's been untouched on the shelf for 2 years or more, it goes. Way too many projects and my better half has been very patient..
- trip to WHW!

Just getting back on the horse, going to focus on 40K Kill Team this year as it'll allow me to paint a bunch of factions that I want, and in the past, I tended to find myself getting bored of painting a lot of the same thing.

I'm trying to keep it to the core troops that can be played in Kill Team, not gonna lie though, I already made a couple of impulse purchases (I'm a sucker for character models).

So...

1) Dark Eldar (Kabalites are WIP atm, some Wyches will be next)
2) Eldar (Excited about those new Corsairs, also want to do some Biel-Tan guys)
3) Sisters of Battle (I love the goofier aspects of 40K and the classic gothic-punk style, never played them but happy they finally got the love they deserve)
4) Adeptus Mechanicus (I'm a big John Blanche fan, these models are glorious and really capture the feel of his classic AdMech artworks)
5) Chaos Space Marines (I collected them back in the glory days of 3.5, my favourite memory of the hobby, so a big nostalgia hit)

I'd also love to get into Necromunda, but I think my eyes might be bigger than my stomach right now, I'll see how much of the above I can get through and try to not allow too much of a pile of shame to build up.

Non-40K:

Some D&D miniatures for my group... an Elven Warlock, Dragonborn Druid and a Wood Elf Fighter for myself. A big boss creature for our DM, don't know what yet though.

Hopefully run my first campaign as DM, I'm going to be using Mork Borg, already have a setting I've been writing with some locations, characters and quests that I'm quite happy with.

Buying: most of this years purchases are already done due to first wave of Eldar refresh being a dissapointment for me. But still left to buy are Scorpion Type II and maybe Cobra Type II as well, and some Hornets.

Building/converting: my main focus this year. Eldar armoured force, with two Falcon conversions towards Type II form without Type II conversion kits; Panther based on excelent Andrew Hicks build; Lynx and Wave Serpents, maybe also superheavies. Then a custom pose for FW Avatar and some Mechanicus conversions and builds.

Terrain: printing Stellar Artisan terrain for Necromunda, then painting everything I have so I can finally play on a fully painted table.

Painting: things listed above, Necromunda gang, finish Etherfields miniatures so I can resume playing this amazing game and anything I can squeeze in on top if that. And finally painting my gaming table (the furniture, not terrain).

After listing this I am certain, that I’m bound to fail this year

I like these threads!

Buying: Necromunda plastics to convert to other games.

Sculpting: I mostly sculpt for companies but this year I really want to just kit bash and sculpt for myself!

Painting: Random sci-fi warbands

Gaming: 5 parsec from home solo.

Want to have loads of small warbands and terrain for this game by the end of the year.
