I am gonna be running a Tournament amongst friends and we may have so many players that with two tables it would be wise to make it a team Tournament. I have never gone to a Team Event however and I'm wondering somethings.
1: How does one handle Command Points?
2: How are Battle Tactics and Grand Strategies Handled?
3: Can you only issue commands to your units?

Basically I don't really know how a 2 vs 2 match is handled in 3.0.

Thanks for advice and comments

There aren't official 2v2 rules, so those are all questions to decide the answers to in your group!

I would lean to:

Separate command point pools for each player.
Separate battle tactics and grand strategy (soem are army specific after all).
Yes, only issue commands to your own units.

But I don't think theres anything inherently wrong with other answers to those questions.

I played a 2v2 tournament and each team was treated as a single player in all respects.

1 command point pool. 1 battle tactic per team per turn. 1 grand strategy per team. Commands could be issued freely assuming receiving unit meets keyword requirements. It worked fine, overall.

I'm on a podcast about (video) game design:

And I also stream tabletop painting/playing Mon&Thurs 8PM EST

And make YouTube videos for that sometimes!

One reason to keep common cp pool rather than per player is if it" per player there's double cp usable, and with smaller armies less to use for.

And 1 battletactic vs per player. If each player has iw's own importance of those vs primary objectives increases(i think). Maybe not preferable. Would make table opponent tactic even more powerfull

Would OBR just have their separate pool of RDP?

Thanks for all the advice it sounds like it will be easier than I thought.

This is also how we did it recently in Central California. Worked out pretty well.
So we are having a 2 v 2 game at my son's house next weekend and this is the template we are using again.

The shared command point pool is fun because you must discuss (sometimes) with your partner how to use your resources.
