So as most armies now have a large centrepiece model, who do you think has the best and what army do you actually consider them a part of (ie Guiliman Ultramarine or Space marine, Knights Adeptus Mechanicus or just Imperial Knights)?

You can also add in a FW model to this if you think it suits, I'm just curious what the consensus is and what people like most?

Mine would be the Void Dragon. I know the silent king, huge pyramid and the FW spider exist, but the void dragon is just.... awesome.

Approx armies
9000pts AdMech (Main army)
7000pts Black Templars (original army)
3500pts Death Guard (lazy side project)
2000pts Imperial Knights (extension of AdMech)
2000pts Harlequins (fun side project)

To bad Magnus sucks though

The new Avatar looks amazing.
Morty and Magnus too
Guilliman is too small, and realistically looks like any other space marine especially if you lose scale.

My WHFB armies were Bretonians and Tomb Kings.

I know he's not as big as all the giant 40k centerpiece models, but I really like 30k Magnus on his display base with the swirly aura of levitating rocks.

My favourite is the Triumph of Saint Katherine for Sisters of Battle.

I like it so much because the datacard lists all the relics and which Order they belong to individually. This allows you to magnetize the models and field them as Canonesses of their order with their relic without bringing the whole Triumph. Seven ways to use the model.

There's also enough story material there that you can make a whole campaign where the Order's goal is to find their relic.

I do fondly remember they days when a LR or Monolith were the massive centerpiece of an army.

But there are a lot of new cool things out there, hard to choose one.

The Triumph of St Katie really does seem to me like an achievement beyond just "it's a super big tank," "it's a super big mecha," or "it's a super big monster." It's an intricate diorama packed with lore-specific details, and lots of personality. I'm glad to have one even if it doesn't see play.

The real irony is the new monolith being smaller

Im going to also echo the Triumph of St Katherine. Despite not being huge its a model that EXUDES a great deal of style, giving an aura (literally and metaphorically) of what it is that makes sisters great. Its models that have unique looks, are doing very weird things, and covered in dead stuff and creepy flying babies. its pretty much the Imperium in a nutshell. PLUS it has one of the best bases on a standard model.

17,000 points (Valhallan)
10,000 points
6,000 points (Order of Our Martyred Lady)
Proud Countess of House Terryn hosting 7 Knights, 2 Dominus Knights, and 8 Armigers
Stormcast Eternals: 7,000 points

I almost want to get into 30k because of this model.

The Triumph. It's so cool that its headache-inducing rules and overpriced cost aren't enough to dissuade me from taking it every once in a while. Plus it's an absolute joy to paint and build and it exudes the soul of the Sororitas.

Mine too. That's one of the two centerpiece model options I have for my SW, the other one is the flyer.

For my orks it's the battlewagon with deff rolla.

Easy, an Imperial Knight is always the center of attention.

The first thing you look at in any picture is the Knight.

Going to be honest with you, no it isn't.
The first thing I looked at in that picture was the cylindrical building.
Then I looked at the yellow squad next to it.
Then I squinted at their opposition, trying to figure out which models they were fighting
Then the building the OpFor were on/near.
Then the background terrain, and realized there was a knight or two mixed in with that.

Honestly, personally? The best centerpiece models are a well done squad with a lot of character, and the rest of the army radiates out from that.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Definitely the Triumph of St. Katherine. It's not just a cool model but it goes beyond just the Sisters of Battle aesthetic and encapsulates everything about the Imperium in 40k. If someone new to 40k asked about it I'd say to start with that model and go from there into the lore.

In terms of Fantasy, the screaming bell is awesome, as is Galrauch the first chaos dragon because the sculpt is awesome.
