3 of us who all played decades ago all getting back into the game and loving it.

One of us has gone for Space Wolves.

Im trying to work out what rules are faction wide for the SW(rather than things just certain units get or general Astartes rules that all chapters get).

Can I list the below and if anyone could offer info id appreciate it.

1- Savage Fury. as I understand it, all SW's get this? (does this stack with Shock Assault which all marines seem to get?)

2- Hunters Unleased. Tactic. I dont quite follow this one. Do all Space Wolves units get this as a general Tactic for SP? I cant work out which units this applies to in the small force so far (1x intercessors, 1x Reivers, 1x LT, 1x Invictor....its a Combat Patrol Box)

Are there any other across the board rules for just SW? I know they get Angels of Death which all Marines get.

Thanks for any advice.

1) Only units with the "Combat Doctrines" ability (Which any Space Marines/Wolves units get through the "Angels of Death" rule via its Dataslate, so check the Dataslate for this rule). get Savage Fury, and only when the Assault Doctrine is active. P.45 in the Space Wolves Supplement outlines this.

2) Hunters Unleased is a chapter tactic. Page 93 and 94 in the Space Marine Codex outlines who gets this ability. (Basically units with the ADEPTUS ASTARTES Keyword get the Hunters Unleased chapter Tactic if they qualify).

3) The rules will be on any given units Dataslate (Mostly anyway., Almost all of the units get the "Angels of Death" rule from P. 124 in the Codex: Space Marines. This gives them a few different rules. I know that any Cyberwolves units do not have this rule).

Thanks for the info.

Space Marines seem to complex, so many things to remember.

Is it normal to feel like your brain is hurting trying to work out the basics?

Im trying to work out if Intecessors for example get Hunters Unleashed (along with other units) and it just dosnt seem straigh tforward.

For a ruleset that was supposed to have all the rule on any given Dataslate, they seem to have gone away from that.

Basically, if you run an all Space Wolves army, then you have An ADEPTUS ASTARTES Detachment since it only includes models with the ADEPTUS ASTARTES keyword (excluding models with the AGENT OF THE IMPERIUM or UNALIGNED keyword).

Since ADEPTUS ASTARTES units in ADEPTUS ASTARTES Detachments gain the Chapter Tactics ability, all of your Space Wolves that have the ADEPTUS ASTARTES keyword would get the Hunters Unleashed Chapter Tactic.

It would be better if all the rules were in one place, but that is GW for you.

Thanks a lot.

Yes it's pure space wolves. So as you say, they should all have AS thus all units have Hunters unleashed I think then... Including troops,, dreadnoughts..... Even vehicles?

Really do appreciate the help. Its been frying my brain.

Edit... I'll just check if they have the AS keyword. Thanks.
