I was hoping that they would have had another mini preview this weekend. Oh well.

I don't recall there being any weekend previews before?

Unless there is an actual preview event, there wouldn't be a preview on the weekend.

Our best bet is one of the Monday articles that showcases a new model. It's been two weeks since the moon buggy, right? Might get another Squat preview today if we're lucky. Might save it for Gencon if they're doing anything for it.

It's kind of hard to tell what to expect since we have no idea how large the initial range will be or when GW plans on releasing them.

We got a background article last week regarding the Guilds.

Yeah, but no shiny new models. And that was last week. We have cravings, you know!

They have done Gencon bits in the past right? Could well be on the cards.

I thought they’d done GenCon already this year?

Not unless GW invented time travel and didn't tell anyone.

It's from the 4th to 7th of August this year and GW's recent post doesn't suggest any previews:

GW wrote:GenCon is kicking off next week, running between the 4th and the 7th of August. The Warhammer booth will be packed with demos, event-exclusive miniatures, and a well stocked Forge World store.

You can also participate in Kill Team: Live!, a super immersive laser tag experience themed around the greatest sci-fi skirmish game.

Of course yesterday we learned that there will be an online preview for Middle Earth (picture spoilered for size) to coincide with the last day of Gencon:

Spoiler:

So who knows? There won't be any other online preview since there's nothing in the schedule, but that needn't stop GW from putting putting up some model preview articles for the extra buzz if they feel like it. Or not. Which is why I'd like to see something today. At least we know new model Monday is something that GW continues doing.

They said in a recent article that there's a preview happening there, yeah.

That's surprising. I'm sure the fan will be happy.

They're nice models.

Those are definitely not Trollslayers with a different background story.

I don't really know what to think. Cyberslayer miners is an interesting idea, but the idea feels a bit out of place with the model. Having both half an armoured space suit and being half naked feels odd with the theme of them being meant to survive extremely harsh conditions.

I believe one hammer or the other solves a rumor engine.

They eschew the high-tech STC weapons wielded by the rest of the Kin, using robust mining equipment such as heavy plasma axes and concussion mauls.

>.>
Sure. Just your normal day-to-day plasma axe.

Models... are fine, I guess? There does seem to be some variation between pics, but they feel... too posed. Like they're there to show off cybernetics and details, rather than fight.

Yeah, the slayers from whfb had an actual reason not to wear armour. Here it doesnt really make sense.

The dude with the double fists looks awesome.

I really like the cybernetic enhancements, very nice design.

To me it makes sense, you need to get to difficult minerals and if you're having to ingest a bunch of drugs to get to them it'll make you whacky.

They should have commited to either heavily armoured with cybernetics, or heavily augmented so they don't even need suits in the first place and can survive in space unassisted. Trying to have both just takes away from the models I think.

I like the models, but they don't really look like the belong in the same army with the other infantry options.

Then again, the super armoured guys don't feel like they belong with the line troops either...

I don't hate them, and they're not a blatant Starcraft ripoff.

I'm really not a fan of the paint scheme they went with for the LoV energetic weapons...

As for thos berserks...
I wont say they are bad, but I must admit that I don't vib with them at all.
The lack of beard and mawhawk just leave you with small angry people that frankly don't look threatening at all.

Why are they half naked? What thos midget with their small arms and legs expect to do on the battlefield? Run slowly toward the enemy line using very cumbersome weapons that won't be of any use in any confined environment (yaknow, were one would expect CTHONIAN dwarf miners to be?)

Their look doesn't match their lore. They are supposed to survive radiation, fathomless oceans and explosions, so they go shirtless except for the female who has a breastplate armor? Also, who mines with an axe? Where is the plasma pick, mining laser guantlets, or driller? They would have been better off calling them kin servitors or something.

I don't hate them - I'm actually not a million miles away from liking them - but feel its another step on the road of "the only thing tying this range together is a colour scheme".

And the fluff makes no sense.

I'm not a fan of these not-slayers personally. Yeah, the choice of weapons isn't ideal (despite my joke above) but the pants seem the most odd to me. Courduroy patches on sweat pants seems like an odd choice for "armor" even if you're a space dwarf berzerker.
