I am returning to Kickstarter with Meridian Miniatures's latest campaign. This time I am here with a very special collaborator, Ana Polanšćak. This is the first time I will have run a campaign for another sculptor's miniatures but when I recently heard that Ana was looking for a way to get a new collection of sculpts cast and released into the world I had to reach out and lend a hand.

They’re cool sculpts. Sadly I can’t justify the pledge price right now, as otherwise I’d have them.

I wonder why she's choosing to cast in metal. Seems like a poor choice on a number of levels.

Casting in metal is cheaper than casting in resin or plastic.

Hey! This is Andrew from Meridian Miniatures here, my choice to cast in metal.
Cost per casting comes into play here, as does fulfilment time. I already have my resin casters working flat out on my other projects so I have to stagger production between materials and campaigns or I would struggle on several levels.

Meridian Miniatures, do your metal minis sell at a similar rate to your resin minis? Or do they sell noticeably fewer?

Well I just sold £10k worth in 24hrs so I guess you’re wrong. In my experience people buy the minis based on how cool they think they are, so I assume these minis are pretty cool.

I'm a sucker for folk horror, and I really like these minis. I'm just a little surprised that there's no explanation / description of what any of them are. I'm not familiar with any of them, but am very curious. If the miniature group's cultural roots in European folklore are part of their appeal to buyers, why not present a short description of each character? Couldn't hurt.
