I was given an incredible gift today of a vast collection of Primaris and Tyranids and Eldar and all kinds of random goodies. In this massive pile was a ... Landraider. It was built well but has weapons I've not seen on one before and the hull has components that look sculpted on such as a long antenna and other little gubbins.
The sponsons are big Volkite weapons and it has a cool looking missile launcher on the turret above the assault ramp.
Is this a newer tank model with a legal load out? Or is it a kit bash? This friend has a habit of modifying lots of things. He has multiples of Primarchs so he could change them. He though Lion el Johnson's head was a better fit for the Leman Russ model so bought both to modify. He's a madman.

Kit-bash I think. No Landraider variant I know of has Volkite weapons.

Sounds like a Land Raider Achilles. Is the "missile launcher" a multi-barrelled weapon? If so, that would be a Quad Launcher. Volkite sponsons are an option for an Achilles, as are twin multi-meltas.

Yeah, sounds like an Achilles (pics below - sponsons can be melta or volkite)

If you got a Land Raider Achilles for free, then you got a smokin gift my friend.
It could also be that they put a havoc launcher there where the heavy bolter normally goes, and just actually used some of the accessories that most people don't use, like the arial on the crusader/redeemer sprue, and various bits and bobs from the rhino/razorback kit or now discontinued vehicle accessory sprue..

I think that must be it! I took a closer look at the bits for the crusader and it seems I've been long out of touch. I'm still not sure of the missile launcher... It looks like it has 3 different types of rocket heads.
That's cool that I have a kit bash that to me is pretty much passable. Is that not cool these days? I'm mostly getting back into the hobby to paint and push models around.
And thanks for the help! Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh should anyone be curious the grand total retail value of the models is about $2949 US dollars.
In a few instances I halved the value due to missing bits or it's more of a sprue of options (which only a small handful).
There is but one model I can not seem to identify. It's some sort of Eldar with squares? Like levitating or perhaps a cape? I have no directions for it and it is on a small character sprue. Automatically Appended Next Post: I found the Missile Launcher. It's from an Impulsor?

Missile Launcher with 3 types of rocket could be an Impulsor, or could also be from an Onager.
The Eldar character with squares you mentioned is very likely a Solitaire.

Yes! That's the one! That explains why I couldn't find him lol. I had no idea such a kit existed. I haven't played close attention to all releases since late 5th.
The Dreadknight model kinda killed my passion for 40k outright. But getting a mountain of free stuff is certainly an easy way to rekindle that flame.
