Hi all,

Second game ever with Necrons against Grey Knights and I got tabled. The paladin's with teleport/charge was too strong, also I made lots of positioning/target priority mistakes.

Any tips, or list comments?

At this point level I have a game remaining with the following:
- Custodes(1 x Shield Captain, 5 x Custodian Guard, 1 x Vecilus Praetor),
- Eldar (Baharroth + Farseer, 10 guardians, 2 x 5 rangers),
- Daemons (Daemon prince, 16 Pink Horror, 1 x Burning Chariot, 1 x Flamer)

My 500 Pts List:
Dynasty: Szarekhan

Catacomb Command Barge [9 PL, 145pts, -2CP]

Warlord Trait: Enduring Will, Weapon: Staff of Light (Melee), Staff of Light (Shooting), Tesla Cannon, Voltaic Staff (Melee), Voltaic Staff (Shooting)
5 x Immortals [80pts]
5x Lychguard [125pts], Sword and Board
3x Skorpekh Destroyer [60pts]
4x Canoptek Scarab Swarm [60pts]

I think your points are incorrect. A unit of 3 skorpekh destroyers is 90 points, not 60 which unfortunately makes your list illegal.
edit: okay i just actually added the numbers and you've got a legal list (you wrote 60 but counted them at 90 so all good).

That being said, I think you should drop the scarabs in favor of more skorpekhs anyway and probly change dynasty to either novokh (to compliment your lychguard and destroyers) or custom dynasty for obsec and pre-game move. Szarekhan is generally just not good. Unfortunately your list also has effectively 0 useful shooting, so you NEED your melee threats to both survive and get into combat. If you have other models you can leverage, you may want to consider reducing the investment into your HQ so you can expand your other units somewhat (this is personal preference so take it or leave it).

One thing to consider is that since you're taking expensive models for the bulk of your army, you may want a technomancer in place of your CCB so you can gain a lot of value by reviving losses and spend the extra points (70ish) on additional models for the units you're taking, or tech in a Lokhust Heavy Destroyer for at least one bigger gun. Again contingent on having the alternative models so feel free to ignore.

Thanks Parsalian, what do you think about adjusting the list to the below?

Option 1:
Novokh
1 x Technomancer, Veil of Darkness
5 x Imortals
10 x Lychguard
2 x L Heavy Destroyers (or Tomb Blades instead)

Option 2:
Mephrit/Novokh
Persistent fall back and shoot protocol
1 x Technomancer, VoD
18 x Warriors, Reapers
3 x Tomb Blades
1 x Ghost Arc

For the first list, Lychguard can be tanky, but their damage output is somewhat lacking w/ only S+1 and D1. I haven't run Lychguard in a while since I just feel like they don't ever make their points back in trades but they do live for a decently long time.

If you're using the Nephilim rules then you can't really take the second list since you need to put something in the ghost ark or it dies on deployment. If you're not then it's fine. I do think the concept of your original list was quite good. I feel like this list is also a bit too 'all-in' on warriors for such a small game. I could be wrong and it might be okay, but if you're playing with objectives then it feels like you'd have a hard time scoring points with one large unit (not going to have a lot of board control).

if you wanted to keep it closer to your original list you could do something like this:
Spoiler:

++ Patrol Detachment 0CP (Necrons) [27 PL, 2CP, 500pts] ++

+ Configuration +

Battle Size [3CP]: 1. Combat Patrol (0-50 Total PL / 0-500 Points)

Detachment Command Cost

Dynasty Choice: Dynasty: Novokh

Gametype: 1. Eternal War

+ No Force Org Slot +

Viral Construct [1 PL, 15pts]: Canoptek Plasmacyte

+ HQ +

Chronomancer [5 PL, -2CP, 85pts]: Dynastic Heirlooms, Entropic Lance, Relic: Veil of Darkness, Warlord, Warlord Trait (Codex 5): Implacable Conqueror (Aura)

+ Troops +

Immortals [4 PL, 80pts]: Gauss Blaster, 5x Immortal

+ Elites +

Lychguard [7 PL, 125pts]: 5x Lychguard
. Hyperphase Sword and Dispersion Shield

Skorpekh Destroyers [8 PL, 150pts]: Skorpekh Destroyer (Reap-Blade)
. 4x Skorpekh Destroyer (Thresher): 4x Hyperphase Threshers

+ Fast Attack +

Canoptek Scarab Swarms [2 PL, 45pts]
. 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarm: 3x Feeder Mandibles

++ Total: [27 PL, 1CP, 500pts] ++

I don't know that this list will specifically counter any of the armies or anything like that, but you've got a beefier skorpekh unit and you're able to give a 5++ to something (either the skorpekhs or the scarabs if you want to push them forward early). Alternatively, you could drop the scarabs and grab extra lychguard or drop both and go a different direction. You could drop the plasmacyte for another 15 points to mess around with but I like having it in this to really make the Skorpekhs scary. I'm showing my bias here a bit since I think Skorpekhs are a requirement in any list but if you don't agree feel free to swap them out!

You could also go for something like this:
Spoiler:

++ Patrol Detachment 0CP (Necrons) [26 PL, 2CP, 500pts] ++

+ Configuration +

Battle Size [3CP]: 1. Combat Patrol (0-50 Total PL / 0-500 Points)

Dynasty Choice: Dynasty: Novokh

Gametype: 1. Eternal War

+ No Force Org Slot +

Viral Construct [1 PL, 15pts]: Canoptek Plasmacyte

+ HQ +

Chronomancer [5 PL, -1CP, 85pts]: Dynastic Heirlooms, Entropic Lance, Relic: Veil of Darkness, Warlord, Warlord Trait (Codex 5): Implacable Conqueror (Aura)

+ Troops +

Immortals [4 PL, 80pts]: Gauss Blaster, 5x Immortal

+ Elites +

Flayed Ones [4 PL, 80pts]
. 8x Flayed One: 8x Flayer Claws

Skorpekh Destroyers [8 PL, 150pts]: Skorpekh Destroyer (Reap-Blade)
. 4x Skorpekh Destroyer (Thresher): 4x Hyperphase Threshers

+ Fast Attack +

Canoptek Scarab Swarms [2 PL, 45pts]
. 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarm: 3x Feeder Mandibles

Canoptek Scarab Swarms [2 PL, 45pts]
. 3x Canoptek Scarab Swarm: 3x Feeder Mandibles

++ Total: [26 PL, 1CP, 500pts] ++

Keep your flayed ones in reserves and deepstrike them somewhere turn 2 if you want and an extra unit of scarabs to help move-block/hold objectives/create pressure.
