I believe Kestrel is an homage to Black Canary (I am fully prepared for you to poke fun at me in case you knew that already and were being silly).

You're welcome. And thanks for the reference; I had not heard of Black Canary before. The picture used in the wikipedia article on Black Canary is identical in pose to Bombshell's Kestrel, so I'm sure you are right.
