With Nemesis Operatives( Kill Team ) on the way, I'll be treating my MKII Iron Warriors team to a Saturnine Praetor.

I think this will work out alright, in a match-play sense, because while he is a powerful character, he's not quite a Dreadnought. Although new units can go as large as Knights(?), I feel that a Saturnine Terminator would be sensible addition for the time being - at least until we can see what they have in mind for the Knights. There are ways to get large characters into a skirmish game but it tends to require special scenarios to accomodate them. I'm guessing it will be a single Armiger or Wardog in this case, rather than the Knights themselves.

If the other examples they give out are any indication (T'au Battlesuits, Sentinels), a Saturnine Dread should be right in the ballpark.

Saturnine Terminator, I assume you mean.

A Saturnine Dreadnought is enormous. A Saturnine Terminator is decently comparable to a Battlesuit.

I was gonna say! A Saturnine Dreadnought in Kill Team would be like Mongo riding into Rockridge on his Ox - even the Armigers would pull their skirts up and flee screaming!

The new Custodes are here: Venatari, Coronus and the base-line Caladius...

Beautiful. I don't often like Custodes, but the black and gold looks amazing

Might I suggest painting a matt varnish over the black areas with decals? You'll eliminate that decal-shine effect.

It works even better if you apply gloss varnish before applying the decal! It makes it more closely match the surface, which makes it easier to avoid getting any outlines later on, and smoothens the surface too to help the decal lay flat.

Gloss-decal-satin varnish is my basic routine for decals that don't need softening.

Apparently in the Forges of Saturn journal one can have Saturnine Centurions. Hmmm...

From what I can tell they're just regular Sat-Terminators that just need a little modelling skill to make them standout? Has anyone else had a stab at this? I'm just thinking that a box of Saturnine Terminators would be more "bang-for-buck" over a single Praetor kit, given that I can get both a Centurion and a 3-model squad out of just one box.

They're a flavour choice for if you want to go all in on Saturnines. They are unfortunately not very good at all, nor very exciting hobbywise as they don't get the special melee weapons.

Specifically Dakka likes flipping my photos sometimes (which is weird as reddit for example always gets them right).

Does load correctly when clicked on at least!

Ahhhhh thats better!

I imagine a gang of Nightlords driving recklessly through the battlefield listing to "Lost in the shadows" by Lou Gramm.

Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

added some, er, excessive sponson dakka to a Sicaran:

Spoiler:

...and I noticed the turret ring is the same size as the one on the Warhammer World exclusive command rhino, so you can create a sort of command Sicaran, which I am quite enamored with:

Hello, God, it's me, Ivy

Sorry it's been a while, I did an oopsie and bought a bunch of LEGO

This week I did finally find the time to cure these rockets and convert some Damned quad launchers into kalliope rocket mortars (and is Field Ordnance the only GW kit where the same weapon sculpts have different names between 30k and 40k?)
