Does anyone know when/if GW plans to release the 9th codex for astra militum to buy on its own and not part of their box set? Or have they and I've just overlooked it?

no you haven't.

I dont know the exact release date, i dont think they've pushed it out. however, based on previous releases, i would aim off for sometime in the next month.

keep an eye on the warhammer community page, they will annouce whats going on pre-order on that site, every Saturday, with the items up for general sale two weeks later.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

The WarCom article for the Army Box said they'd be "released separately in 2023", so there still a while off.

Soon(tm).

We're waiting on the rest of the Slaves to Darkness release and Astra Militarum release, with all those new models and books and such.

Here's hoping GW gets them out sooner than later. I'm sure plenty of people got christmas cash to burn.

They are to hard to print and deliver. Plus the studio has to be all hands on deck packing up the new loot boxs .

If you have to kill, then kill in the best manner. If you slaughter, then slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife so his animal feels no pain.

New Cadians are in stores on Jan 28th, which probably means the codex goes on preorder Saturday 21st. At least that's how it happened with Votann.

I don't think that article says what you think it says.

Free Model of the month on 1/28 will be a Cadian Guardsmen. Nothing about when the Codex will finally release. We know it is set for Winter of 2023 as is the World Eaters Codex, but everything else is reading tea leaves at this point.

Still, if they are getting sprues of the new Cadian Guardsmen to stores for 1/28, the full release can't be far behind... according to my reading of the tea leaves

When Votann were the free model of the month, the date given for that was the same Saturday the codex was available to buy in stores (1 week after preorders).

All I'm saying is that if GW are using the same timing here, that would mean Guard get announced on Sunday 15th and on preorder Saturday 21st.
