The lizardmen are the best of the releases but are effectively just updated sculpts of versions that already existed in and out of the warhammer range.

To be fair that's all they needed to be. As is, some people are complaining about the new raptors, and I think the only reason the change in the head plates heads of the saurus aren't getting more complaints is because the old sculpts are so weedy looking.

But a glance at the warcry stuff, even if it doesn't suit a particular taste, suggests they're not out of creativity.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Given GW's naming conventions of late, be careful what you wish for.

What's wrong with the name Starwrought Terriraptors? Or Bloodravenge Ferociousars. Or Razortooth Rendodons? 🤢

You joke, but I'd take it over "Cold One Riders" that describes nothing. Makes me think of people riding sentient beer cans.

I see a couple of people complaining about the Raptodons but I think that mostly comes from the paint scheme highlighting the face, which looks a bit short with very big eyes. While we may never know what color dinosaurs were, the short face and big eyes, as well as the forelimbs hint at the design being inspired by Oviraptors, egg-hunting dinosaurs that didn't need to have long snouts.

I like them, and I look forward to seeing how other people paint them when they release.

And yeah, AoS team has a huge, open world to fill out, and their focus thus far has only really been on the Realm of Beasts, Ghur. Who knows what the next edition is going to bring, what realm we're going to see, and what crazy sorts of things are going to come out of the designers as a result. They have Warcry and Underworlds where they can play with designs to see what sticks while slowly expanding selections for different armies, and then they have the main game where they can experiment with different rules systems.

I see the designers really enjoying the freedom they have in Age of Sigmar, over 40k where if they give a guardsman a lasgun that's slightly too long they'll get lambasted by the community.

Also, while a Dark Elf may refer to their cold-blooded steed by such a name, surely the cold-blooded lizardmen have their own name for big riding reptiles.

Having seen loads of photo shopped pictures trying to Fix the new marines, i think the easy solution is to just leave off the upper set of launchers. The belt feed rocket launcher looks alright. trying to relocate the rest onto the backpack looks terrible, so just leave it off.

Easiest solution would be to swap arms with a Horus Heresy Missile Launcher Heavy Support Squad and turn these arms into belt-fed rotor cannons for a Tactical Support Squad. Maybe. Sometimes Firstborn/Primaris arm swaps work, sometimes they don't, but now I may have given myself sufficient excuse to get the box for the GLORIOUS DREADNOUGHT and try it out.

Why are people so desperate to "fix" the missile launcher action figures?

They've pretty universally been panned on any platform I've seen them discussed, and yet people are still talking about saving them!

Don't!

Collectively we got here because GW have realised they can turn out any old gak and people buy it, plus a percentage of other kits too as people pick up whatever they feel they need in bits to execute their plan. Which, let's face it, is probably only really followed through on in a percentage of cases.

GW don't care that you think the kit you bought sucked, and you "fixed" them. Your money looks exactly the same in their bank account as the money of somebody who loved them.

If you think they're awesome, fill your boots, no judgement (well, maybe a little...) But all you do as a member of the "I hate them, I'm only buying two boxes" crowd is send the message that, at worst, you're indifferent to the design, or, at worse, you enthusiastically want more of it.

You really need to get a grip. I cannot believe you are triggered by people buying a Kit that is not possible to even buy yet

Because they may want to use that specific weapon profile in their army and would rather have something that looks better without being a deodorant Land Raider level of counts-as?

Desperate to "FIX" no, but theres potential in the models and I'm sure i'll end up with some at some point, either cheaply from ebay or when somebody wants me to paint some for them.

Same reason I fixed up a stormtalon, a squad of centurions, and a dozen other OKish kits over the years.

It's not the 1980s any more, I'm sure many talented sculptors and manufacturers will be along shortly with alternatives.

But I would suggest anybody so worried about winning a game that they cannot possibly contemplate not adding a, no doubt very expensive, kit to their collection isn't the sort of person who is even vaguely going to be persuaded by what I'm saying.

I've got five bucks that says their rules are OP enough that all the try-hards buy three boxes, no matter how silly they look.

Someone else already shared the simplest solution ITT, just buy the Horus Heresy Missile launcher upgrade sprue and a set of intercessors and make primaris devastators. Seems like a great idea to me anyway. That is, if you really must have the unit in your army.

Primaris are just becoming a parody version on craftworld eldar at this point, we have fire dragon and dark reapers and floaty tanks to boot lol

It's so odd seeing numarines go that route.

1. The marine sgt with the largest t-shirt cannon is.... using his pistol.

2. Still no assault marines for HH. : /

Clearly he's found a target that his hand-held Whirlwind launcher (seriously, look up the leaked rules! ) cannot handle.

Would that be the rumoured Superkrak and Superfrag rules? With the Sgt getting Vengeance and/or Castellan missiles?

Y'know how some people get dragged into a meeting and are like "this could have been an e-mail"?

I feel like that's the situation with the missile marines. "This could have been a tank."

But tanks suck in the rules so they put it on infantry instead, for some reason.

The reasons so many people are intent to 'fix' the missile marines...

1. They want to show how they can do better
2. They want to express their creativity
3. They want to find a way to convert the models to suit their own style
4. They want the models because the rules are amazing but the models themselves are garbo.

I'm all for just sticking regular missile packs from Devastators or 30k marines onto Intercessors. It's not gunna be hard, the bits already exist, and most opponents probably won't care, or might even thank you for not putting those ugly missile marines on the table.

Overall, I think this would be a PERFECT time for the community to NOT BUY THE THING THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO BUY.

But, it's space marines, so it'll sell amazingly well and GW will learn nothing.

I have many complaints about these models (and a lot of the Primaris silliness), but I don’t think that’s fair. The article specifically mentions that some of the missiles are indirect fire weapons and even if it’s a direct fire version you’re not going to use a missile against an Ork standing 5 feet in front of you!

An appeal from a new user - can you not use terms like ‘triggered’ over somebody expressing a fairly logically and calmly structured opinion? It’s a discourteous attempt to shut down discourse by invalidating somebody else’s contribution through tone policing or, worse, gaslighting and I’m really tired of it. Debate the point, or ignore the point - don’t go out of your way to try to make the other person feel worthless. It’s immature and spiteful and you can find that on places like 4chan. Don’t be like 4chan.
