Looks like Michael Keaton is going to carry this movie. He's the only reason I may watch it.

From scuttlebutt I heard a couple of days ago, I believe they've cut a lot of MK's scenes.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Not sure about that. They couldn't even get his mask seated over both of his eyes during his introduction.

Superbowl trailer: Oh, they've cut this film up enough that its now a Batman film.
Full trailer: Well, that has more Flash, but it ramps up into a Supergirl film.

Well then It'd be no hardship to just skip it. Not a fan of this version of the flash. No interest in Supergirl.

Don’t care for this version of the flash. Nice to see Keaton as Batman though.

I heard this would have supergirl in it but it looks like they’ve just subbed in supergirl into superman’s role from flashpoint wholesale which does a disservice to both characters.

I expect I’ll watch this when it comes to streaming but won’t pay to see it at the cinema.

The other scuttlebutt is that this film is going to be a way to transition to the Gunn DCEU.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Really isn't a better time to do it than the Flash breaking reality. They can sort out their actor problems and their continuity problems with one swift stroke.

"A lot" is probably a sizable exaggeration. What they'll probably change is the ending, because...

Spoiler:
...the plan pre-Gunn was for Keaton to take over as the main Batman in the new, fixed-but-slightly-different DCEU universe. It was their way of doing a soft reboot. Signs point to a harder, if not complete reboot under Gunn and Keaton not being the guy going forward, so those end scenes are probably cut, yeah. Word is they also shot some new footage in the fall with Cavill as Superman for the ending...that will probably be scrapped now that he's out again before he was ever really back.

If you wrote a story about a movie studio going through all these twists and turns, it wouldn't seem believable. This film's history is nuts too. Started as a Snyderverse movie, then became a vehicle for a soft reboot of the Snyderverse, and now will probably be used to completely erase the Snyderverse. Throw in the 3-4 different directors attached and all the story/script changes and that's quite a journey.

I'm also gonna say again that *against all odds*, this movie is supposedly testing not just well but *great*. Like it's legitimately good and easily the best DCEU film. Which I still think potentially puts them in an odd spot if audiences are receptive and it makes a revised DCEU actually look salvageable...only for Gunn and company to reboot the whole thing. I get that they need actors that they can lock up for 10 years at a studio-friendly rate. But does it just feed the narrative that 'DC doesn't know what it's doing' if they kill the thing coming off a high note?

But again I guess it doesn't really matter given that general audiences don't really pay close attention to what's in what universe. Just make good movies and it'll sort out.

I mean... Batman V Superman reportedly had a standing ovation and was called "the greatest comic book movie ever made" by test screens. I don't trust DC/WB reporting on their test screens for gak.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

This is not a narrative at this point. We're way beyond this being a narrative. Only the most rabid, diehard DC fans could seriously look at the offering of DCEU films and tell themselves the studio knew what it was doing. It's been a complete trainwreck, and this Flash movie also looks like it's going to be a complete trainwreck.

If you wrote a story about a movie studio going through all these twists and turns, it wouldn't seem believable.

To be fair, most 'histories' of movie studios generally have this sentiment somewhere on the back cover. Hollywood studios are pretty crazy by default.

Can’t say I’m overly hyped.

Great to see Michael Keaton back as Batman, but that trailer just felt like a ‘Member Berry.

Maybe the film will be good. Maybe it will be crap. I won’t be seeing it. At least, not until it pops up for free on a Streaming Service.

The lead actor put me off, those videos of him beating up and choking women make it hard to take this movie seriously.

Hard to see him as anything other than a loser.

Nice how Keaton’s “I’m Batman” has all the energy he brought to “I think it has something to do with Spider-Man.”

I think I need to see this movie. I love trainwrecks.

I'm shocked to see them end the trailer on that super creeper note given the circumstances.

Standing O from executives. Not the test audiences. Major difference here is that BvS actually *didn't* test well. Which isn't a surprise, right?

The standing O from the executives talk was the studio trying to hype up a turd, just like how Marvel "leaked" that Eternals got its own standing O and was "shockingly good" or whatever phrase it was. WB was worried they had a clunker on their hands with BvS, which is why they were already all over Snyder on JL and had him cut BvS down to what turned out to be an even worse theatrical cut.

You can believe me or not, but there's lots of buzz saying that the Flash is actually pretty damn good. As I said, it's against all odds given the history of the project, but the studio is apparently very confident about what they have. Of course, will people go see it? I dunno.

Which is somehow the perfect weird, fethed up twist as the curtain closes on the DCEU...that they might actually get it right as they shut it down. I guess Aquaman 2 is technically still yet to come though. I kinda wonder if anyone will care about that one by the time it's released though.

Creative people can be a weird bunch. Sometimes the more creative, the weirder.

But the history of the DCEU isn't a mere trainwreck...it's like a trainwreck that crashed into a fireworks factory that exploded and caused an airliner to plummet into a convent. There were a lot more careers -- execs, directors, and actors -- that got fethed up over the DCEU than with your average studio gakshow story.

On Eternals being "shockingly good". Well, I guess that could be true - if the test audience was expecting something worse....
Out here in the real world? I've never been entertained by the Eternals on the page. So I wasn't expecting them to be better than completely boring on screen. Oh look, it came out comic accurate - boring.

On caring about Aquaman 2 - Sure, I'll go see it. I'm fine with watching Aquaman as a completely stand alone adventure. I don't need every movie I see to be part of a bigger story. Not even if they are set in a shared universe.

Still feels like a movie where I'll just watch the clips where Michael Keaton is on screen on Youtube and that's about it. Not crazy about the idea of basically making Man of Steel 2, Electric Bugaloo except with Flash and Friends versus just Superman vs Zod.

Well, I guess its good no one will have to wonder what the subtext and messaging is, because apparently the characters will just keep pausing to turn to the audience and explain.

It looks.... fine. Like if I was someone super invested in all of this I could see being excited, but I'm just... not. Michael Keaton's Batman is near and dear to me, but nothing about this movie captures that take on the character in a way that connects to what I love about it. I don't really like Man of Steel so that Zod is kind of a negative and I care even less about this Flash to get invested there.

Also, I just don't think Flashpoint as a story has had time to settle. It's a decade old at this point, sure, but in that time its been adapated into the TV show, gotten an animated film and when you strip out the specifics of stuff like Thomas Wayne Batman like this film has done, really doesn't feel all that different from Injustice which has really dominated the DC brand for quite a while. I feel like I've already seen the film, right up to the inevitable, Barry has to set things right by fighting the Barry that won't let go of saving his mom.

Yeah, this just doesn't look good. I'm still floored this is actually coming out given Ezra Miller is... well, Ezra Miller. It just wreaks of DC learning all the wrong lessons again. Stuffing this full of cameos very much gives the impression the story being told is threadbare and is relying on 'oh look it's him!' to get bums in seats.

You don't like the visual of basic grey scenes alternately washed out entirely to blue or orange?

I suspect the biggest impact of the film will be meme one liners. 'What did you do?' is already standing out.

Is it positive relative to what DC's recent offerings of Shazam 2 and Black Adam were? Because if so, it's not a very high bar to clear.
