So I've been doing orky racing with my family for a while now using the Gorkamorka Rules, which I love.

But I wanted something a bit more streamlined and using the 40K 9th rules.

So here's what we did. It was quite simple.

1. You are allowed to move within engagement range of another vehicle.
2. You are allowed to fire at other vehicles with no difference between whether you are in engagement range or not.
3. Shooting allowed.
4. No charging, fighting, or falling back.

And it worked out fine. Nice quick game with just the right amount of mayham to be propah orky.

BTW: That's a kustom Grot Kopta (treated as Deff Kopta, just need to clean up that glue gun stuff) also featured my home made buggy and the classic skorcha!

Pretty neat! I was in Spotlight the other day and noticed they sell those tough carpet playmats with towns and racecourses printed on them. Having one of those mats, but with gorkamorka printing on it, would be the dream combo here. Almost the perfect dimensions too.

(Can trukks carry boyz who can fight?)

Yeah, about half of my hobby these days is just converting un used kids stuff to make it warhammery. Which works because the kids love it to.

Yesterday I said to my son: "Son, it's time we did a serious narrative wargame." His response. "Ok , the orks are having a race. The winner gets to fight the warboss." LOL!

Since its shooting only, I'd say Trukks and Battlewagons can make use of the open top rule and just have all their boyz firing out of the trukk/battle wagon.

That could also be an interesting strategy. The transports are slower than other orky vehicles but have more wounds and more dakka. Might be a good way to win (blow everyone else up before anyone can cross the finish line).

One Page Rules has a racing game too, tho I believe it comes on 2 pages.

Weird, looks like it got taken down from the main site, but it's still under submission examples for their rules writing contest

I would suggest to use the Gaslands rules.

There was a one page set of ork racing rules GW did at Games Day Baltimore in 2000? 2001?

I'm not sure that's out on the net anywhere but it sure was simple and fun that day.

I am still, STILL, annoyed that I missed this, to this day.

Long after we'd stopped playing GorkaMorka, my game group and I were still running races using the rules. All you needed was a board laid out as a track, five minutes of, "Okay, what are the checkpoints and how do we drive off the ramps?", and those fantastic vehicle rules.
