Seventeen minutes, half of a roadmap, one box and the collectable nonsense...

Whoever did the planning for this whole event ought to be sprayed down with cans of that rotten swedish herring; they're disregarding basic event stuff by ending it on a huge letdown.

They didn't even make it to 20m with this preview. One wonders why they set aside the time when they could've added it elsewhere?

Ah well. Outside of Sisters of Silence I own not a single one of those minis, so that works.

Woo. Very happy about the death world veteran, because I’ve been trying to justify making the masked spear chaos dude from underworlds into an inquisitiorial agent

Whoever spotted that Catachan spear in the Rumour Engine way back, well done.

But we were all wrong about it being new Catachans, it seems.

It's cool that these things are happening.
It does, however, feel a bit...busy? Maybe that's the right word?

I would feel a lot better knowing that the Servitor and the two Guard-style Ministorum Preachers are separate sprues, allowing for individual releases.

The models look good at least.

Article on Ashes of Faith is up

The stars of the show are the new Inquisitorial Agents. These shadowy specialists are an Inquisitor’s most valuable assets, whose unique skills and abilities are vital for fighting a war in the darkness.

Four of these acolytes can be each be built as two completely different operatives – the pistol-packing Interrogator can also become a knife-juggling Enlightener, for example – while there’s also an Autosavant, a faithful Tome-skull, and a Gun Servitor who can be armed (literally) with a heavy bolter, multi-melta, or plasma cannon.

The battle for the city of Deepwell – and with it, the very planet of Exhalus – is a push-and-pull struggle for control of vital locations, using decks of cards, reusable stickers, and chunky terrain tiles to create objectives, enlist conspirators, and hoodwink your opponent. The cards included are themed around the Inquisition and Cult forces included in the box, but they can be used by any Kill Team to run the campaign as you see fit.

Sounds like this might be a board game in disguise?

They could easily have wrapped the whole thing up in two days, and it would probably have been better received. LOTR and TOW was pretty much unneeded from a content point of view (i guess they wanted to affirm that they're still doing both in a very public way), that there was no BL session is just baffling, Necromunda would have been nice, and in general there were too many duds and too much time between revealst to let that really sink in. The decision not to stream the Q&A session is baffling as well, but i guess they do that due to legal reasons or whatever. All in all, i'd have wished for 'meatier' seminars, their short 15-minute presentations leave a lot to be desired and are very light on actual information. Which is also baffling, because they did good ones in the past.

Gun Servitor must be equipped with a Heavy Bolter, as required by Lex Imperialis (the ceremonial use of a Hvy Bolter demands it)

And oh, gunna need a skyshield landing plaftform and a valkyrie kit, like stat

Sounds like it, yeah, it's allegedly got narrative campaign events, so this could be some sort of 'Cursed City' analogue or an evolution of a BSF-like game. Sound like a lot of cardstock is involved, too.

I suppose it would make sense to combine bsf and KT21. Well this sort of does it then?

In hindsight, should have known S3 cannot start until fall, since KT21 started summer/fall and a season = 1 year. Durr

I'd say that's unlikely, but maybe a separate Servitor kit comes with thee Mechanicus codex? They should have enough CAD assets by now to just throw one out on the side.

I’m underwhelmed by the inquisitor retinue. They seem so static and bland. Lots of big heavy robes that seem reminiscent of models released years ago, like flagellants. Or more recently, necromunda hive scum and redemptionists. I like the savant and servitor, but I’ll need to see how people convert the others before I want to get the whole team

Why is the servitor such a massive chungus boy?

Vat Grown, potentially a captured and repurposed Traitor Marine, maybe a failed Astartes Aspirant donated by a Chapter.

Could be a very scrawny Ogryn, it's not like they need a genius to make a servitor out of anyway

Why you listed for aos unknown battletome order? For one placeholder isn't same they been using so far and last time they used that placeholder was for 1st dawnbringer book.

Also after cos all order is done. Only tome left is fec.

Possibly because GW's style is super buff dudes. Or because every Servitor is a failed Marine aspirant or a vat-grown creature suspiciously shaped like one.

In a more general sense, it might be because it's convention no one in the design study questions because sculpting entails a degree of standardization, even if the range of Servitors in the background is pretty extensive.

Also when they are sorting the raw materials and deciding what fills what roles, the big beefy bodies are more suited for gun servitors, while the little scrawny ones are more likely to be wired up as scribes
