Hello, my name is Justine, ive not been on dakka dakka since 2018 and idk if anything has changed rulewise
So I have a question about what type of minis and sculptures are allowed to be posted on this site
I work with alot of art forms like minis, bjds, vinyl dolls, 3d prints, etc.
I tried finding other forums on this topic and looked at the rules to find any information and so far I haven't found anything.
So I'm wondering if it's only gaming minis or that the sculptures have to be a certain size or can I post any of my sculptures or dolls on here too?
I would appreciate the help and advice
Thanks

Hi there.

Dakka seems to go for gaming pictures mostly, whatever, as long as they are gaming-related.

There's this:

This appears to be what you have read.
We get cosplay pictures posted. Fan-art, all sorts.
until a Mod comes along to lay down the law, post what you want, and hit the yellow triangle to call for help if you want official approval to post it.

Hey and welcome back, I see no problem with sharing your hobby projects here, we've had the odd poster upload their doll and bigger figure projects before in the past, so as long as they don't stray into the overly naughty territories (one poster was quite obsessed with anatomical correctness in certain areas and showing this off, that's something we could do without), all should be well.

Thanks if need be, could I send a message to a mod or administrator to see if it's OK to post?, also I prefer not to post any nudity unless it's raging heroes and even then I try my best to sculpt something iver the naught bits like a chest plate or a Bra 😅

As long as models displaying nudity uploaded to our gallery have voting disabled and NSFW as one of their tags, you're in the clear. 👍🏻

I do own some raging heroes models and the artist have a knack for showing off all the women's curves 😅 and I don't want to get into trouble

Hi I'm the gallery moderator so let me chime in.

Models should be on topic, that is related to wargaming. Which can be pretty broad. Besides models like Raging Heroes or 40k I see action figures, cosplay, chibi figures, conversions and scratch builds. In theory we'd also be fine with historical military models, sci fi models, Gunpla, and the like (since most sci fi franchises have some sort of game attached) but I don't see much of that. If I started seeing a lot of superhero statues, car models, doll houses, street dioramas I might ask questions but so far it's not been an issue.

Generally the guideline is stay on topic. Making a good dollhouse involves a lot of the same skills as making a wargaming diorama or terrain so if it's there to illustrate those skills great.

Nudity is a tricky one since most of the games we feature have had naked near naked official figures. Generally if something is R Rated I'll turn off voting and add a NSFW tag so that it will not come up randomly on someone's computer.

Something X rated I'd probably delete, but again it really hasn't come up, which I think is a testimony to the great community we have.
