Battle-toy tacti-cool primaris were a bad idea.
Edit edit: AND SCOUTS! Are GW just going to retcon primaris out entirely?
Retcon would be preferable, especially since I don't like the intercessor helmets (like a smushed nose mk IV). The vader inspired helmets look way better to me, and the old tactical marines box had subtle variations in the helmets too. And the lore....yuck.

Of the new 40k models, I most want the new Sternguard and JP Intercessors. And I really need that Terminator Chaplain as I don't have one currently. Was hoping for new Vanguard Veterans but I'm okay without them. I've already got lots of Scouts so I'll probably give the new ones a miss, at least at first (nobody should have a problem with me using the old ones right? Right?).

Is that Mk3 unhelmeted head identical to the Mk6 one? Same with the nuncio vox...
Did they recycle the upgrade sprue and just include it in the set?

Looking forward to seeing the jet pack primaris intercessors. Intercessors for me have been my unabashed favorites of the Primaris line in their various forms and all the rest have either fallen flat on their faces for me (like the gravis) or been meh (like the tacticool commandos).

Well that was a bit of a bait and switch. They released Daemon Fulgrim, but not for 40k. Just for HH. Big sad, and I don't even play CSM, much less EC specifically.

GW has to stop doing that, really dick move to bust out that mini and then be like "haha, its a resin piece for Horus Heresy" when they know theres a lot of people looking forward to the 40k version of him.
Calling it now, in 3 years their going to release the plastic version, its going to be a total dog by comparison, and its going to result in a bunch of "We have Fulgrim at home" memes.

God the detail in the sculpt is incredible.
Absolutely criminal it’s being produced by such a gak company and will be $200+ for a shoddy mess of miscast and warped to hell pieces.

If only there had been a roadmap for Heresy releases with "primarch" listed in the resin section, we could have seen this coming!
Plastic Daemon primarch fulgrim isn't going to happen until Emperors Children get a Codex. Possibly at the end of this edition, as a massive EV and Slaanesh release at the same time as Eldar get nerfed into oblivion.

The space marine stuff for both systems is surprisingly good. Curious about some of the options (like helmets) for the various characters.
For 40k, they really do feel like GW is just shrugging and merging the primaris/pre-primaris product lines without much pretense. Not unexpected after the terminators and sternguard, but the totally-not-a-Command Squad really rings the bell.
Though I see the chaplain has a helmet on the summary page.
Scouts are comparatively decent, but still don't like unhelmeted heads, and the style of scout head just doesn't work for me.
Jump troops need their tactical rocks trimmed down _a lot_ some look like they're just falling over.
Disappointing that the assault terminators are going to linger on until another kit happens. Dark Angels release, I expect.
Apparently captains are the new lieutenants.
----
Gorgers are a surprise (to me). An improvement from the old version... mostly. The criss-cross head straps don't look any better than it did on the random character a while back, and still don't make any sense.
Some nice RPG sculpts in the human hunters/bandits.
---
Ironjaws are fine, I guess. I don't quite get the appeal of the big over-armored orks, but fine.
The new troll king is a fething mess of a sculpt. No idea what happened here, or why the face is just a complete fail state, and so much stuff is jumbled messes of bits or wacky in proportions.
The Slaanesh underworlds band looks fantastic for Slaaneshi Heralds. Really stand out as something chaotic and weird.
Totally Not the Fay Enchantress looks good.

- Not too exited by the Marines. Glad the winners were the tyranids. Gotta say I did enjoy the scouts quite a lot though, as well as getting exactly what I expected from the multipart termies.
- Troll King is weird, but I LOVED how hard Ironjawz (with a Z) won this time. I was tempted by buying the Start Collecting Kit, but those new 'Ardboys are just superior in every way.
- Glad they are making a new "starter" set for HH, but I still can't get over the "Dorito" part.
- Blown away by the new Gorgers, surprise MVPs of the show, I thought Ogrekin wouldn't get something actually cool never.
- Regular W from Blood Bowl. Thralls are used as food and you can see that from the models.
- Literal Squid Game in Underworld . NA Slaanesh looks fantastic.
- Horse lovers are boring, gimme TK.
- Jebaited so hard by Fulgrim until they showed the HH logo.

Finally after almost 2 whole decades GW give the community good Gorger models... and plastic no less.
Now hopefully we don't have to wait the same length of time before we get Yhettis.

I think the squid wins it for me...
The AOS stuff looks good, marines are marines.. interesting the scouts are there as it counters Valraks prediction of a scorpion vs scout killteam starter set. I was hoping his Foilrak prediction of a 40k quest game was accurate but alas not..
The Bret Damsel is a lovely sculpt.. not a fan of resin but I'd be tempted to make an exception.

That's like saying 'I don't get the appeal of Orks with big guns'.
I really like the Ironjawz - easily the best of these releases (apart from the Mk III Marines). The new WH40k Marines are nice (if predictable), but the helmetless heads are really horrible.

I liked the new Indomi Chaplain and the new MKIII resculpts look glorious. Everything else was more or less whelming.. except for that Slaaneshi Primarch, another work of art from FW.
Holding on to my resin Deredeos for now, I dont like the subtle differences of the plastic version enough to flip them, will probably build em half resin/half plastic (just want more posability for the legs)

No Infernus kit?
Chaplain is cool. Command squad is cool (but I guess that means no free agent Champions/Ancients anymore). Sternguard are nice. Bye bye Sniper Scouts.
No full Ballistus kit is another missed opportunity. Just like not doing a proper Outrider kit or making a new Bike Captain.
Termies are fine. I presume Assault Terminators are waiting for the Blood Angel book.
Sill: No separate Infernus release? Baffling.
