Sure was, the most impressive GW preview I've seen, maybe ever?

His Master's Voice wrote:Dunno why GW thinks leading one leg away from the primary axis of motion makes for a good pose. They've done it a couple times now and it always looks like the character is falling, rather than jumping.

I've notived that too, can't say I'm a fan. I wonder if it's something to do with the limitations of plastic tooling, after all, there are only so many parts that they can fit on a sprue, so not all undercut issues can be easily resolved.

I was intrigued by the big army shot of a new Primaris army with all Primaris units except they also had 2 landraiders in there side by side with repulsors. Prior to today's reveals it seems like GW would never have done that.

I think there is a similar shot with both in the Leviathan book

Also also also for the Marines?

Happy to see characters with weapon options. Not 27 different models. And hopefully “you can’t take that specific combo of arms because we’ve not done a model for it”.

Perhaps "Captain with Power Sword and Plasma Pistol" will finally be a legal loadout for non-Templars given the Command box has both

Yeah it almost looks like the jump pack is sending them straight into the ground

Nice to see the Deredeo again. The unicorn rider sculpts for TOW looks really good

They mentioned reduced datasheets in the codex. I'm guessing consolidation of a few more characters, and moving more firstborn versions over to Legends.

Good all round preview, but no Space Hulk...oh well.

The Blood Bowl Vampire team...wow. With a bit of low effort kit bashing thats a whole box of AOS Vampire Lords! And can one imagine the Cursed City explorers stumbling across Vampires having a good throw-about in the streets of Ulfenkarn? Dungeon Bowl using the Cursed City tiles...hmmm.

"Hunted and Hunted" would be a nice boost for games of Frostgrave or maybe even Rangers of Shadowdeep, although I'm not sure if ogors are a thing in the later. The price of the WC starter set doesn't inspire confidence, though...

Demon-Fulgrim is obviously a marvelous model, but not sure what that means for 40K Emperors Children in 10th edition. I'm assuming they'll do a separate plastic model for 40K at a later date.

Élisse would have been a nice model for Warhammer stores, for ladies suffering "I just want to quickly pop in and have a look" from their war-loving other halves. Its a very beautiful model with a more gentle feel to it.

Might retire my old Marine Scouts for non-GW games and get the new ones, along with Hormagaunts, for Lost Patrol and a bit of KT'18. Nice update and dual scout / sniper options makes sense.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Gathering the Informations.

Note that the Sniper is a one-off, going by the blurb.

Those who need to sneak heavier firepower onto the battlefield will find options for gunners lugging missile launchers or heavy bolters, as well as a cloaked sniper for picking off enemy CHARACTERS.

They avoided this back when their tooling was less sophisticated, so I have to assume it's a deliberate design choice.

That had me concerned as well.

They also call out that the jump guys can have 1 plasma pistol per 5 guys, but no mention of flamers (or other options for BA legacy squads)

Will be interesting to see what options are in the codex, not just the box.

True.
But the introduction of multi-option character kits at least means I don’t need to worry about the kitbashed captain I made to copy a limited release one.

Not my first rodeo for an edition change. I remain cautiously optimistic, but am not pinning my hopes and dreams on anything actually happening. Also trying not to assume the worst and borrow trouble from a future that might not happen. I know “wait and see” has been meamed, rightfully so in some cases. But there is a time for it.

Are the new scouts considered primaris or oldstartes in the lore?

Makes me think that they will have a kill team sprue

Last I checked newly created primaris follow the same implant procedures as firstborn. Just getting the new bits in the process. So assuming a chapter is using the new organs, all new scouts will eventually become primaris once they finish the work.

Why?

Maybe GW just don't see a need for a complete unit of scouts as snipers anymore.

Any source for the confirmation? I suppose when the codex stat block entry leaks we'll know for sure.

That's what I'd assume as well but figured I'd see if there was any definitive answer. It says in the article that they're taller but that could just be rescaling and not official primarisizing just like with some power armor Secondus chaos and HH figs.

Ruleswise they might be different, but lorewise? They're supposed to be Scouts, same as they were before.

Bloat has already given Primaris Marines a dedicated sniper unit.

Great show for fantasy related stuff!
And nice stuff for marines and marines -it goes along nice with the marines they recently released. To bad they didnt reveal more tiny mini-marines .

Fulgrim is fantastic. Will he be a resin model produced and sold by Forge World? I'm not very into 30k, so don't really know how that release model works.

Thanks. I doubt I'm willing to pay the price they'll ask for it then, considering I would at best use it as a substitute in 40k.

One that makes far, far more sense than "the rookies are running around in blobs with sniper rifles".

I was a little surprised when they said 30k/resin. I figure it was just a matter of time before we got a plastic demon primarch and Emperor’s Children codex for 40k. Need to round out the gods, and we have the other 3. At first sight on the pic I thought “it’s happening” but with Fulgrim in resin, how long are we going to have to wait now? Because if we are lucky, it will be the same model, just in plastic.

Because that model does look amazing.
