Well this is interesting. Seems 40k and AoS in the works:

Putting the video up now for Weta's time zone?

These things are going to be very expensive.

Premium collectibles.

No thanks. I spend too much on this stuff already.

1/6? Ooph that’s going to cost some coin. Thank goodness the Joytoy stuff scratches my itch.

I was at the Weta Workshop a bit over a week ago. They sell a lot of sutff, and in the museum they have a bunch of Ork stuff one guy painted up.

Doing 40k stuff would fit in with everything else they do. Now they need to get onboard with whatever's happening with Amazon/Henry Cavil.

Interesting indeed. The Weta site in Auckland is worth a visit if you are in town.

Love how all the Weta creatives are all long term 40K fans. Bodes well for the final products.

Would be cool if they eventually made props. I just can't think of many iconic 40k blades, except maybe Farside's or Big E's. Generic weapons would be cool too

Maybe Weta will also help with the Amazon show stuff?

All of the marine factions have named bladed weapons of various types. The. There are force weapons from imperial and eldar factions at least. I think there are enough out there for a decent list.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Gotta say, those guys seem genuinely hyped to be doing this, so could be very interesting.

I still have the original Bolter armed Ultramarine that was part of the GW/Sideshow/WETA collaboration from years ago.

It's not fantastic as there was little artistic licence and the model was basically a scaled up 3re Ed Tactical Marine but it does have a satisfying heft.

I'm also happy with the WETA Argonath, Minas Tirith and Gollum models that came with the Special Ed LOTR DVD sets so there may be space available on the shelf for whatever comes out of this project.

I really hope that whatever Weta brings out is going to be varied. I don't want 10 Space Marine figures before we even get a single Eldar.

I would pay more than good money for an Yndrasta statue of the core book cover art.

Old-school Axe Of Khorne as per the b/w drawing in Slaves To Darkness would be rather tempting if I had the cash to burn

Was expecting some big film announcement, but wouldn't mind a 1:6 Harlequin.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

There are only about 3 characters in the history of 40k I would pay Weta money for...so hopefully they don't make any of those.

Paying 80$ for an incredibly mid Celestine figure (that I still love because it's Celestine) was enough for me, thanks.

You mean this one (pictured under Wargear) ? That would be a nice trip down nostalgia lane..

I hope their first product is literally "10 Space Marines and an Eldar".

GW's got to make that bank somehow.

They keep raising the prices, they won't be doing it with Miniatures, and games.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

feth Weta. Their shipping policies are ridiculous, they wanted $30 to ship two mini vinyl figures and a little pendant I was going to get someone as a gift because they charge per item in the order.

Wow a whole $30, you know how funny that sounds when shipping from the States can be 5 times that for one mini figure

Weta has a US warehouse. The subtotal for the order was $17 and the heaviest object in order was 1/4th of a pound. I’ve personally shipped 4 pounds of plastic through USPS for like $11, in a large box, even with their higher consumer shipping rates post COVID. Not even a month ago.

$30 to ship that domestically is just nonsense, and like I said it’s purely because they charge separately for each item and probably package it that way too. You enjoy your overcharges and nonsense fees, they’re not for everyone.

I have a feeling that anything from 40k/Weta is going to be significantly over $17 and so combined postage on small value items probably isn't going to be an issue here.

Does WETA even sell anything under $17?

A beta test for the next round of scale creep for 40k v11?

I was going to say Weta test. Lol.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.
