Subject: Dead Man's Hand Redux: Box game with all plastic miniatures
I will definitely be supporting this and I hope that they are able to develop a new Sprue like Comanche or Apache or Mexican to go with this Kickstarter. Their miniatures to date are fantastic.

Been looking forward to this. My 1st ed stuff showed up this week and I've been working out what I need to play since I'll need to supply all the terrain and figs for the group.
I wish the plastic buildings were available to purchase now. The rest of it I'm fine with waiting until april, but without a table to play on in the meantime I'll probably just go for a Greenhorn pledge and order some more ACW buildings from Perry Miniatures. I like these Great Escape buildings more, but I don't like them "wait 5 months" more.
These building are great and I definitely want a pile of them. But in the meantime, I am working on something a bit different for this genre.
Rather than go for the typical arid biome with dusty streets and cacti, I want to put together a board that is lush in terms of nature but scant in terms of humanity. So I have assembled a bunch of the Perrys’ ramshackle buildings and will put them on a forest floor type mat with plenty of deciduous and coniferous trees.
I literally started printing wild west houses (from the Sunset Badlands KS) the morning before I saw the announcement for this. Sadly the proportions are fairly different, the ceilings on the STLs are about 1m higher (in scale)

So the buildings in the KS are their existing ones and the models are new?
Or is it not the case?
Haven’t looked at the KS page yet as I’m at work.
Though was hoping for a bit more for £90, or lesser price for that amount of stuff.
Stretches have any thrown in stuff or is it all add on stuff?

Plastic gunfighters (male and female) have been out for a while. Plastic covered wagons recently came out and are currently for sale. The tooling is done and previews of the plastic buildings have been sent to some reviewers, but the actual public release for the plastic buildings is the 2nd edition starter set (this kickstarter), delivering in April. There's a stretch goal at 100K to add another sprue that would turn the buildings into 2 story buildings.
Great Escape Games currently produces the laser cut MDF buildings that 4Ground used to produce, those are all still available. Perry Miniatures also has some buildings available through their ACW line of figures, and Renedra has some as well, I've been eyeballing their church and barn all afternoon. Most of these are up on the Great Escape Games webstore, and with the exchange rate it's currently cheaper to order through them and pay international shipping than to buy from US sellers, though it takes a couple weeks to come in.
**Edit** OK, having now built the Perry Minis North American Store, I think I'll wait for the DMH Redux building sets to release. Perry kit is overly fiddly and while making the roof be removable is doable, it'd be a royal PITA. Not sure why it has working doors when the inside has no detail and no floor. Looking forward even more to the DMH plastic buildings

Just started to have a look.
Interesting that several stretch goals have extras added on to the building or walkway sprue.
I always feel like they were something that’s there anyway and they are just adding mention of it.
Not sure with this if that’s the case, or they’re gonna redesign the sprue at each point to fit these things in..

Yeah, the preview buildings sent out to some Youtubers had the walkways already clipped free and certain parts of the buildings sprues were clipped away. I'm 99.9% sure the crows, buckets, dogs and hitching post/trough stretch goals are "fake" stretch goals that were already tooled and made, but are easy reveals to build excitement. I don't mind.
Stuart did an interview with Battle Bunker HQ and gives a lot of additional info. They have something like 11 plastic sets in various stages of production and planning. 3 of which are these plastic buildings, the mounted male gunfighters and the mounted female gunfighters. There's a second unnamed building kit in the works (I'm hoping for a large corner building hotel/saloon). He doesn't mention any gangs specifically, but heavily hints at 2 different Indians sets (likely plains indians and south-western indians) and Banditos as being pretty obviously. It's a great interview to have in the background while you do some hobbying

We had a bit of unused space on one of the building sprues. For the hitching posts and water troughs, we expanded the boardwalk sprue. The one we really want to get to is the 80k stretch goal for the street scatter sprue. Barrels, boxes, baggage, and we'll add that sprue to the box set permanently. Then there's that double story building stretch goal. The double storey is interchangeable with the single.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Thanks for all the positivity and encouragement. It's a huge investment we've made in this project and a bit of a gamble because it's plastic scenery that we're asking everyone to back.
Normally that may not be that sexy, but to get Dead Man's Hand out to a bigger player base we needed to be able to give you the scene in plastic. You can't manufacture in any other medium in the quantities needed.

Yeah, it will end up 20 figures, 3 buildings and the walkways (and all the extras), and a covered wagon. And of course the game itself.
Assuming all is unlocked on the free lines.
Not too bad I think if you want to get into it.
For me, I like a bit more in the way of goodies in KS to sway me in. Not that we should expect certain amounts from them, but we’ve gotten spoiled.
I may pick up some buildings alone (and then grab the figures I like the look of from various places etc).

The 2-storey utilises the 1-storey plus adds two extra sprues. These have stairs, balcony, walls, header and roof. Walls, header, roof are different from the 1-storey and interchangeable.

The buildings look fantastic, and would be a great excuse for me to build the rest of the table that this building was intended for... Plast Craft went out of business, and I don't particularly want to use MDF for it, so these are just what the doctor ordered.
Sadly the dentist ordered a root canal, so I'm going to have to wait for retail on this one...

Really impressed with the way these buildings have been designed, the two storey one in particular looks amazing. I realise sprues for these are likely already finished but it would be nice to see some ladders included with any future kits.

Is header the part where the name of the business goes? Having a second variant of that is what I most care about.

Oh, that looks really nice. I think I could find a use for a few more of those buildings than just the ones from the starter pack. I personally really like the modular elements and can already imagine a lot of combinations.
