I like them quite a bit. The only thing missing is some command options. I suppose those could be converted easily enough though.

I'd be curious to see how they line up with pendraken's samurai.

Great stuff. When reading through the earlier posts in this thread I was hoping it would be 10mm for the exact reasons in the article - always struck me as the perfect balance of detailed enough figures to allow for actually recognizable troops, while being speedy to paint, and small enough to fit plenty on a table. The only non-28mm scale I ever got into.

Those models looks ace, and the choice of variable model strips (and some individual ones) is excellent for preventing repetition; so many ways to arrange those. There was a time I individually based all my 10mm, but have come around to multibasing now so these are preferred.

Unfortunately have no real desire for Ashigaru/Samurai, though maybe that will happen if I get back into Age of Empires III or Shogun 2:Total War one day (never really gave the latter a good shot, and then Warhammer Total War came out...). Would love to see European armies from the same period in plastic; Italian Wars and all that. Colourful troops and formations which will look great in 10mm too. Have a bunch of Pendraken which I love, but oh my, cast metal pikes in 10mm are often a bit of a pain. Too thin and bendy, but too much work to replace with something. Plastic would be heavenly. (And honestly, is there anything that looks better at a small scale than a pike formation?) That they would also work as Warmaster/Minihammer Dogs of War is an added advantage.

In a historical gaming? They were simply samurai doubling as professional spies so on the batlefield they will look as everyone else. Unless you mean fantasy black clad assassins?

New sneak peek seems to be fantasy animals / monsters. I see some ROUSs, giant maggots, and what looks like a dire wolf / hyena / warg, as well as some tentacles and ugly humanoid heads (maybe for harpies, nagas, or similar). Looks like a decent, if somewhat incoherent selection which will be useful for many RPG people.

Could one on the top left be a badger? There is a skirmish game called Burrows&Badgers for anthropomorphized animals wars.

Like an unauthorized Redwall war game? Cause I would be very into that.

@Wargames Atlantic-I'm assuming the original mounted conquistadors kit got split into Conquistador Cavalry & Heavy Renaissance Cavalry.

I'm very psyched that they're in the tooling phase.

Not to mention, any sensible spy or assassin will disguise themselves to blend in, not stand out. Thus the cinematic black clad ninja is exactly that, cinematic. As is Naruto in his bright orange jumpsuit.

If you want ninja in your sengoku jidai games, just use a servant figure or samurai courier miniature. "A message for you, Oda-sama." *STAB*

A bit off topic but Reaper has that well covered with their familiar sets.

Yup. This has been a more "recent" issue so I have to get on top of that!

So WGA's great secret is they are going to release a few sets in 15mm. Does anyone know what the theme will be for this release?

Good God no. We will never make "those nasty little 15s" as Bryan Ansell rightly called them! 15s are the worst of all sizes and do nothing well. I have spoken.

That's too bad, anything smaller that 15mm is smaller than I can manage to paint.

The News and Rumors section is all about surprises. I'd certainly hate it if we got 100 posts saying "I know something you don't know..." - malfred

See this, THIS RIGHT HERE is why nobody takes historical gamers seriously. You have obviously NOT watched The Last Samurai which CLEARLY depicts the Meiji era ninja attacks leading up to the Satsuma Rebellion, nor have you acknowledged the fastidious research involved in the 1985 American Ninja documentaries. I'm not mad, to be utterly clear, mostly just...disappointed. Embarrassed. Embarrased by your ignorance. I've dealt with your like before, the type of ignoramus that says vikings never had horns on their helmets. It's hard to admit you're wrong, I'm sure, but you ARE wrong. Ninja are cool. And historically accurate. Maybe.

No interest in the period, but count me impressed anyway. Nice mix of figures, great price and good choice of scale

I think 10mm is great (my choice for smaller sci Fi). Speed of painting as 6mm, with better detail, especially in plastic. N scale terrain is plentiful and in the niche of period appropriate structures for these figures there should be some excellent options available from Japan.

Shall be watching 10mm with great interest, it's probably beyond their scope but a 10mm set of generuc-human-space-guardsmen complete with infantry, cavalry and vehicles would be heaven... Grognards with a boxy space-Char tank...

I was serious about wanting plastic ninjas. As for everything else... I mean I said American Ninja was a documentary and The Last Samurai was historically accurate, I didn't think it needed a sarcasm tag

For sci-fi I'd like to see 10mm Bulldogs and Ooh-Rah, but sadly none of my scifi 10mm stuff has ever seen the table so far. My group has too much 15mm and 6mm. Someday I'll use all that heavy Gear stuff I painted years ago, but it means learning the game enough to teach vs just playing more Alpha Strike or Team Yankee.

Most importantly, the Sneakfeet snipers and werewolves are supposed to release next week, looking forward to both those sets

So glad the Grand Scale is 10mm. My wallet is not that happy.

Going to use loads of those infantry as my mercenaries in 10mm Fantasy (Warmaster and the like).

Warlord scale was too weird.

Any other 10mm in the pipeline? Europeans? fantasy?

I'm another in for wanting a ninja kit. Heck, I'd be happy with just a General Accoutrements digital release. Give them arms with feudal and modern weaponry options so they can be used in samurai fantasy, pulp, and 80's action schlock genres.

Weren't some digital ninjas already available from WGA (I may be wrong)?

Those were sci-fi cyber ninjas for Death Fields. Decent models for cyberpunk/scifi, but not really useful as any other type of ninja.
