Agreed. Also with matching heater shields. So a helm with unicorn crest and a shield with an embossed Unicorn Rampant for example.

Seconded, Hamster. I've scouring the internet for decent embossed heater shields that aren't prohibitively expensive. I need at least four for different poses of the same hero made from Baron's War foot knights.

i don't really know why WGA wouldnt put this as an actual update of the crowdfunding, but, oh well, those look very cool indeed! Do we know if the bases are included along the free sprues?

I don't think so, from the text in the newsletter there was space on the tool so they used the bases to fill it, so i don't anticipate they'll be part of the sprue sent out to backers, it sound like they'll either be clipped off in the factory or when the tool is used they'll close part of it off so they either make damned or the bases

good point, hopefully we would get both (so much less hassle for WGA than trying to make everybody re-do their picks!), but if not they'll need to make it clear what sprue is what, and give us plenty of time to shuffle our free picks around

Bit disappointing to have bases for the blank space when it's dead easy to get round bases already.(that is assuming they could have put even more hweap option bits there)

First up, the Vox Populi Conquistador Cavalry and the second Cavalry set we added - the Renaissance Heavy Cavalry!

There were so many parts for this set we decided to divide it up into two unique sets. Both sets will be built on our existing Medium Horses and both sets will share a frame x 4 each of WAARN003/6x. This frame has all the heads, shields, and saddles for the two sets along with the doggos! And as we mentioned you'll get 4 in each box so that's a lot of doggos! Both cavalry sets will feature 12 horses and riders (although you'll actually get 16 riders in the heavy cavalry set)

For the Conquistadors we have less heavily armored troops. The final parts are being added to this. They share a mold with our new dual-use 25mm x 50mm pill bases which will be sold separately!

The unarmored guys are on a half sprue. Wonder how that is gonna compare the sets between each other.

I am so not a fan of half sprues. Anything worth doing a half sprue of is worth doing a full sprue of.

Sigh: None of the mounted conquistadors have a cuirass, unlike the ones on foot; it appears they all have gambesons...

Sorry Kidcthulu but thats the entire point of them if you want cuirasses buy the European cavalry.

I don't know enough about the period, but should the mounted versions have a cuirass?

I pre-ordered before they split them into two kits.

To accurately get what I want, I need to buy both kits, cut a rider from each kit in half, and then I'll have a conquistador that matches the foot ones I like and an idiot with a gamebeson and inexplicably overly armored legs

I preordered 2 boxes but the Heavy kit seems way more loaded with stuff than the mounted conquistadors. The article said both kits get 4 horse frames, 4 shield/ head frames then 4 of their individual frame... Which means 4 half sprues for the conquistadors (with 12 rider bodies) vs 4 full sprues for the heavies (with 16 rider bodies).

I kind of want one of each, but the heavy box looks better. More riders and ton more bits.

Agreed, especially for non-historical kits. Historical sets I can see the justification due to our world having mostly right-handed people and the left-handed being trained out of it in childhood. But for fictional settings ... c'mon, let us have the kitbash opportunities. Heck, there was a short fantasy series that I liked as a boy whose Conan the Barbarian clone protagonist dual wielded a broadsword and throwing axe instead of the typical sword and dagger of history. Plenty of left hand dagger arms nowadays, but other than those left hand swords, never mind axes or maces, are surpassingly rare. Thus one usually has to cut and glue.

Hey WGA, can we get some heater shields with sculpted heraldry? Preferably with a way for me to get 4 of same shield?

My knight needs a shield and I've been having a devil of a time finding ones that aren't crusader shields with crosses or price-gougey Bretonnian relics on eBay.

according to the newsletter "This frame shares a mold with WAAGA007 Weird War One Conversion Parts. This is going to be included in the upcoming The Last War boxed game to convert our hard plastic WW1 figures!" which i think refers to this https://www.forbiddenpsalm.com/last-war
