Red Sonja looks really bad.
The costuming look wrong or cheap, not sure how I'd describe it. Maybe, "poorly thought out" but I feel that is too generous.

The rewards of tolerance are treachery and betrayal.

I guess its a forlorn hope that Karl Urban would be back as Dredd?

Or that the film wouldn't be like the last Thor one...

Couldn't be worse than some of the existing Terminator movies....

Nothing in the Hanna Barbera style ever, thank you.

Whilst I can still enjoy Scooby Doo, everything else just looks cheap and naff.

Also, animated comedies with a laugh track? Yeeeeuch.

Somebody missed out in Johnny Quest.

I’m kind of glad we’re not getting another straightfaced missing-the-point take on a grimdark satire. It’s annoying enough what’s become of 40k. As much as I like Carl Urban, I hated that the film took the parody of American copaganda with the SS runes drawn on his visor so even the dull readers pick up in the satire and then made a serious, Snyder-ized action film out of it. As bad as Stallone’s movie was, at least it was true to the comic’s creator’s intentions.

I just didn't like how Stallone's version was only 16 minutes long.

The movie ended for me when he took his helmet off.

Eh, Dredd is many things button up tight under a single coat.

Sure, Dredd as a film was deliberately Brutalist, but Karl Urban was perfect in the role. And we do see Dredd’s undersung trait of adapting on the fly.

By all rights? Anderson had fluffed it. Big time. Not only lost her Lawgiver, but was taken captive. Yet? Had it not been for her unique gift? Kay would’ve been just another Perp, and executed on the spot. The origin of Slo-Mo wouldn’t have been uncovered, an Ma-Ma would’ve continued to menace Peach Trees and all of Mega-City One.

Which is why she gets a pass.

That happens in the comics too, though over a greater span of time. Dredd will always uphold The Law. Even when it’s unjust, and he knows it to be unjust. What he does instead is use his ridiculous clout and reputation to challenge the law, and see that it’s changed through the proper channels.

The absurdity is the city around him, and the result of the citizenry’s underemployed boredom.

I did not see Dredd as copaganda at all. If anything, it showed the futility of a Cop led way to solve crime.... it can't.

I mean look at the state of Megacity-One and it was only getting worse. Even if you go total "Law and Order" you can't solve societies woes with such a view. Plus, in such a world all you did was ensure those who enforced the law would become corrupted; as Dredd's fellows do. Draconian punishments only led to more crime! Punishment solves nothing in Dredd.

I guess on its surface, it can look like "Copaganda". However, when you think about what it is actually showing, it is more ACAB. No one comes out of that movie looking good as they are all tainted by the oppressive system they are part of.

Well then I missed it when I saw the film. My friend group missed it, too, because they celebrated him like he was Batman or something.

People celebrated Rorschach in The Watchmen too...

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Ugh. Watchmen. Another comic book movie that missed the point of what the creator (in this case Alan Moore) intended.

That’s another film where I feel like the director misunderstood the source material.
