When we were waiting for Backrooms to start, there were like 3 or 4 trailers that all looked like similar post-apocalypse or zombie-apocalypse stuff, and it all mushed together into some unappealing congealed mass of blandness. I just can’t get wanting to subject oneself to this stuff anymore, in this day.
Survival movies stopped making sense once we passed that Krusty threshold: “the living will envy the dead”. Just let all these characters go gentle into that good night. I’d rather watch that.
I wonder after al these watch out for the other survivors films humans will be conditioned enough to actually do this stuff in our post apocalypse milu, rather than team up rapidly and form small communities.
Yeah, that is why I have a hard time with these types of films. People are social creatures and will form communities to help each other first. We have seen and documented it after huge natural disasters many, many times.

I thought Ridley Scott could only do sequels these days.

This is in the same cinematic universe as A Good Year and House of Gucci, obliviously.
I totally forgot about House of Gucci.
I'll have to watch that and Gladiator II in the same night.

I wouldn’t bother with Gladiator 2. It’s genuinely not very good. Not simply “not as good as the original”. Actually a not very good film in its own right.
It feels like a cheap knock-off. By that company that does knocks like Transmorphers to cash-in on blockbusters.
