Just seen this article over on WHC confirming new shows coming to Warhammer+, for those who watch content over there.

Interestingly, I didn't see any mentions of new animations.

Quite a lot there. Also surprised at no mention of new animations.

It also seems slightly odd that they're doing what looks to be a show involving Blackstone Fortress, a game you can't even buy from them anymore.

I think they've gone from lots of smaller ones to very few higher production value ones; whilst at the same time pushing out more of the video content.

It's a shame as I do miss the Bolter and Chainsword series appearing now and then even if they lacked lots of animation cells they had some really neat stories and good art direction.

They might also have chosen to leave Christmas blank because of the impending Amazon show and wanting that to take all the attention of animation right now. Plus we should be hearing about finalising of the deal with Amazon for the live action show

Questing nights with Blackstone Fortress! Finally they're doing more content for...it...ummm...yeah, what Mentlegen324 said. Unless they're going to have a show based solely around Cursed City...?

Personally, the animations were the draw.

The total lack of them is a bit of a disappointment.

Warhammer+ really is in an odd place right now. For many of us, the animations are the main draw. And yet the inconsistent and slow release schedule means there is little to keep us coming back. It's just a good job the exclusive models are so good this year, as otherwise I fear they risked losing a whole load of subscribers.

And an unfinished White Dwarf archive is frustrating.

Never did get that Warhammer Adventures animation which they had in the initial launch trailer...

Boy, its a good thing I only got WH+ for the mini and Army Builder access...

They keep sending useless "perks" as well.

I don't play on PC, I don't need dlc codes.
I don't need a "discount code" for wall art that I am not going to buy.
It's the same tat they bundled into christmas white dwarfs in the past.

I play tabletop miniatures. Give me vouchers for the shop, and more minis

This article proves to me that WH+ is just about selling fans two fancy limited edition minis a year.. who cares about the other stuff amirite

If this doesnt make their subscriber count fall, they might as well just make WH+ all about the two miniatures and skip all pretense of "content"

The problem with the "free model" is that they're very hit'n'miss, so relying on that to draw in subscribers isn't going to go far at all. If I don't see anything like an Eldar, Tyranid or Knight character...not interested in the slightest. I'm sure other players will have their specific tastes as well.

Here's something; go the full whack for tournament players - all the rules they need for any of their games on Warhammer+. All the errata applied automatically. Strip out the narrative campaigns, fluff, pretty pictures and hobby waffle, and make Warhammer+ a serious proposition for at least that crowd. Come on, who really wants to turn up to an event with a wheelbarrow of books? You're a fighter, not a librarian. Easy to find within seconds and keep games going with a good pace.

Hell, call it "Warhammer Tournament"!

In return for those who do buy the physical books - put more focus on open and narrative material that is far more creative in nature. I love reading books, making conversions, creating missions and characters, not caring too much about balance so long as the game isn't broken. "Enjoy seeing battles come to life on your kitchen table!" should be the message with these books, not draconian crap like "if your army isn't painted then your opponent gains 10 victory points." or "you must be using the latest errata". Matched play should of course still be in there - at least as a rough guide to see you through the edition - but save the tournament level stuff for Warhammer+. Aim this stuff at those who enjoy playing at home, or casually at a local venue. Maybe those who just like the ideal of collecting and painting an army, without any intention of playing a single game...strange as that may be.

Just my thoughts on it.

And yes...Warhammer+ is indeed having a game of Blackstone Fortress this week...

First image I found - there was a UK version but it's been out-of-stock for a while...

German does seem more fitting for the Imperium... at least until they release a Latin translation.

I think that came out last year or the year before. IT might even be a pandemic year thing. But yeah Monopoly Warhammer was a thing. They do loads of popculture stuff to keep that game relevant
