My job at the college dairy farm seems to be finalized. I started off working in at the connected ice cream parlor ~2 1/2 years ago, and have managed to work my way towards what I actually wanted to do. Coming from a background w/out any experience with livestock it feels like I've finally gotten where I want to be work wise and climbed my way up slowly to work on farm. Scooping manure is a lot more rewarding than scooping ice cream it turns out!

Did an escape room with peeps from work. We escaped to Atlantis in about 35 minutes. Good fun.

Are escape rooms actually fun?

If you like solving puzzles and following clues, then they can be fun. A bit of lateral thinking and detail spotting helps as well.

Yeah, I'm one of the people who would totally get distracted by the story of the room. Heck, that was why it took so long for me to get through BioShock on my first playthrough...

I had the same issue with Skyrim. My friends had beaten it and I was still reading books in a bandit cave.

My son had a stroke while in the hospital due to a respiratory illness a year and a half ago. Last night he sung a whole song. Some of the words were more sounds and you can tell certain consonants are probably gone for good, but it's at least a little win for his recovery.

In other news? For the first time in my life, I’m living in a home with a Water Meter.
Previously living in flats (apartments for our American chums) I couldn’t have one, due to how the water supply is arranged. And so since…..2010 or so, I’ve been at the mercy of the water companies “Chinny Reckon Then Add 20%” unmetered pricing.
Which let’s just say, isn’t based off the use of a single adult male. And there’s nothing you can do about it.
Now? Now I only pay for what I use, and it’s treatment. That’s not exactly hundreds of pounds a year in saving. But it is still pretty significant.
Also my power bill has dropped. Long story to that one, but now I’m again only paying for what I used.

Woooooot!
In other news? I got an irritating case off my desk earlier.
The only way I can describe the associated feeling is a bit crude, but I’ll keep it clean.
It’s the mental equivalent of finally getting home and visiting The Smallest Room, when you’ve had the Vicar’s Breath, and the Mole At The Counter wasn’t going to take no for an answer much longer. And it’s like an Otter Off A Bank into the bargain.
Just a delightful mental feeling.

Had intended to get Cursed City for the undead models ever since its announcement, but never got round to it. When Darkwater was announced I thought I'd best get it now, but made the mistake of waiting a week before looking, finding that ebay was the only place with any left at £155 plus. Today, with residue birthday money coincidentally in my pocket, I happened to see a copy right at the front of the window display of Element Games in Nottingham. Take off the 3rd party discount, my loyalty balance and the birthday money, walked away with it for less than £70 of my own money. Very pleased. Now I just have to find somewhere for it to gather dust
