Ya know the more you guys point out the Astartes.. I mean Primaris Bladeguard[?] movements in the Secret Level episode. The more I do see how they are vastly different than our Youtube original. I still think the action is very well done. I've watched reaction videos of Secret Level just to enjoy non-fans reactions.
Watching people who don't know what 40k was, reacting to Astartes was a very joyous thing for me. Particularly this group of friends who were like "Are these the good guys?"

All I can say now, for those who are only reading this topic. Let us wait and see before buying Warhammer+. They could pull a Primaris bait and switch and even have an "inspired by Astartes" caveat.

Remember when GW took the original Astartes away from you to put it behind a paywall?

Yes. I was our of the hobby when it came out originally and stumbled over that hurdle when I first learned of its existence.

I hope it retains the gritty, no nonsense feel of the original.

Remember how instead of annihilating the animation it got put on WarCom for ages and the animator got hired by GW to work on projects like Secret Level?

And it’s still on YouTube.

I don't know. The sound design is not the important bit for me. Rather the animation, industrial design and storyline.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Sorry, to clarify, I personally don't see that the difference between the two versions of sound design are particularly important.

Yes, as far as I can tell- the sound and music are original. This version is uploaded by a random person though. GW official version has a slightly changed sound design, as you know..

Also, @Flinty, ngl, it’s somewhat weird to take sound out of the viewing experience, it’s a strong force, that improves the sight drastically. But to each his own!

Sorry, I'm not explaining myself particularly clearly today... I'll have one last go

I agree that sound design is important and has a big effect on viewer experience.

My opinion is that the difference between the original sound design and the revised one is negligible, in so far that if you only ever experienced one or the other its not likely to change your opinion of the animation overall.

So I guess in Astares I he had a sound and music partner who GW did not get the right to?

In any case, yeah, the old footage looks good.

Let's hope the actual Astares II is like this.

As for Primarus vs Secundus, I imagine it will have to be OG marines since we all know the Rubicon Primaris is very x2 risky and hardly anyone survives it. Ever.
