I think the Votann are my favourite of all the reveals, all of them just have so much character to them.

Not really a fan of the chaos dwarfs, unfortunately. Something about them seems a lot more generic, cheap and artificial compared to the styling of the original. They've lost some of that gritty dark industrial aesthetic, I think. Partly the paint scheme they've gone for as i've seen them posted in a more classic red and they look much better, but still, something seems lacking overall.

The new Votann models are a bit hit-and-miss for me. I think they are struggling to expand the variety while keeping a unified look. The Steeljacks just look wrong to me, but the characters are nice (although the guy with the nid carapace looks rather weird). My favourite is the Strategist.

I really don't see how this is them "struggling", there isn't anything here that seems like a departure from their aesthetic to me.

The Steeljack proportions I think make more sense if you think of them as just a "Men of Iron" Combat Chassis rather than something specifically adapted for the kin.

Hey! There’s a Necron in there. That’s good, isn’t it!

Lets get ready for another weirdly redundant unit!

Yup: Not-Spyders, slightly different Plasmacytes, and yet another Cryptek.

IDK if that Cryptek is redundant. Looks like he has a Wraith Body. If he gets a movement buff and a 4+ invulnerable it would make a pretty nice add on.

I believe this would be the first Necron model to be described as explicitly female, based on how they were talking on the stream. Looking forward to hearing a bit more about that (but not the inevitable click-bait faux-outrage).

We've had had female Necrons since Xenology over twenty years ago. We've had named rulers of Dynasties, crypteks, and lord-consorts in multiple novels and novellas.

Cool, didn't know that! Maybe we can avoid the month-long fight about girl-bots, then!

Moving on: I do really appreciate the way that one Squat special character leans into the old trope about how all the Squats got eaten by Tyranids and that's why they weren't in the game anymore. It also helps reinforce the 'joke' nature of the army that started by announcing them on April Fool's Day.

That ruins all my fun.
