Today my internet provider dies and I can't work so I have some time for hobby. I'd add some details to LRBT. Highlights, edges, weapon and lenses. Still need add weathering(or not? Idk if it needed there) and edge highlights for camo, and finish trucks. May be some details like grilles and Aquilas alaround
The heat effect on the plasmacannons and the sooth on the gun barrel cool really good. I don't know, if that is for you, but I sometimes use a really fine black pen to do the deep lines at the sides of my tanks. Around the hatches and the like. It lets them really pop out.

Outlines... IDK what sometimes happens with my head. I've give same suggestion to other dakkanaut and absolutely forgot add them myself. that why LR looks flat. Thanks
On the note on helping each other out: how do you do your heated plasma cannons? I do my lascannons with a base of Retributor armor and then layers of Reikland Fleshshade - Carroburg Crimson - Druchi Violet - Drakenhof Neightshade - Nuln oil. Yours look a little different (and better in my opinion).
And how do you do the sooth on the gunbarrel? Just airbrushing black?
One last comment (and again a question of taste): I would consider doing the spanners (I think that's the word. I mean the metal colored "screws" on the side meant to keep the tracks under tension) a little darker by adding nuln oil. Maybe even let them look a bit grimy. For my personal taste they look a little bit too clean beside the plasma cannons and the darker exhausts in the back.

I fear my recipe really can't help you, i use local paints, so basecoat of black( very very close to old chaos black), than layer of Copper - very orange copper paint. next satin varnish and next dry brush 3 layers of violet metallic paint called Burnt steel. Each layer moves closer to barrel.
For barrel just drybrush my 'Chaos black' around the holes.
Agreed on bolts and nuts. I don't use washes, so add some paints to its alongside with outlines for hatches. I have "Fifty shades of Brown" so i can add some oil/rust all around.

Thanks, I have a gameshop nearby that has lots of colors from Vallejo, Army painter etc. I'll look out for an orangy copper and purplish metall and experiment a bit. And that chaos black drybrush I can immediatly try out with the Baneblade I'm doing at the momemt.
Another thing I can bother you once more: could you send a close up pic of your epicscope lenses around the hatch my way? While I have a style I'm satisfied with for the moment, it still has some potential to be better and I would like to have some inspiration how others do them.

To be honest I can't remember where and when I see this recipe. It's simple and even with my shaking hands I can get acceptable result.
I use 4 green and one blue for lenses
Base coat of green number 1( left to right) then layer of 2 and 3 each smaller an lower on lense surface. And then color number 7. It's create some depth effect. And then highlight upper edge of pastel blue (you can use fenris grey or something like that) mixed with something close to corax white 1:1. I don't like white highlight cause it's too sharp when used with green. After it I add few layers of gloss varnish.
It can be done with any colours.
Number one on photo are a bit darker compared to how it is. It's close to Caliban green.

Are you going to battle damage it up, or leave it fresh off the factory floor clean?

I don't know to be honest. It's looks better with some damage scratches and dirt, but imma very bad at it, so i can make things worse. I decide once i finish with recesses and if it still need something to add I'll try add damage.

You can never go wrong with mud.

Ohhhhkey, I should change faction, since any time I pray God for help with my minis only God of Excess answers me... Though I overdosed with damage and dirt... again.
Now waiting till all paints drying and I add last layers of varnish. I added damage and dirt, outline some details, add last highlights and now have filing like it's Xmas tree... Damaged dirty Christmas tree...
It's really minor, but have you considered drilling a hole into the end of the HK-missile? I always find it irritating that it doesn't look like a rocket-exhaust back there, just being flat
Edit the paint scheme looks really good. Nice take on some IG armor. And they will have a cool contrast beside your blue Cadians

I always think that some numbers/symbols make tanks look "complete."

Initially I don't give a tough about marking tbh, but since you mentioned decided add them , but for reason unknown decals don't glue to my tank... I'd try numbers signs nothing hold.
I'd apply gloss varnish, when it dries i soak decals in water and apply to model. Once its dry it's fall on table...
So I just give up and just paint number and signs.
It's took much time but I complete them. Kasrkins done. It's nice switch to them after LRBT and Baneblade (not complete )
I've make them same colours as main IG forces, but gonna use them for kill team and boarding actions.
Your Kasrkin Kill Team just got an upgrade (The WC update made them nicer).

Thanks, I found some time for that Sentinels pair after i finish Ravener kill team.
SarpedonofSotha wrote:Yeah the colours are superb ! Love that blue grey combo !
Keep up the great works those kasrkins look amazing.
Thanks.
I'm start working on second KT I have. It's obviously Raveners cause i said so earlier. I never paints something but IG so now it's more like rediscovering miniature painting for me. There's no hard edges no cloth no skin. I'd try colour scheme which i use for Winget Tyranid Prime, but it's looks ugly. So trying build new one, but using same base colours.
Firstly, don't be so hard on yourself regarding the Leman Russ. It looks like a solid result to me. For myself I like to drybrush black powder over exhausts, vents and gun barrels but it's not striclt necessary. I also don't drill gun barrels/ exhausts as I'm terrible at doing them accurately- I just paint some black in instead
I like the look of that Ravener! I didn't know they'd released a KT for them, the model looks very cool.

Thanks, I'm almost like LRBT now. But if I don't be strict to myself no one be .. as for barrels I'd training a bit before driving actual guns
As for Raveners there is kt and new Tyranids terrain. Gonna order it later.
Love the colours on the ravener, that's a solid start ! I like the hard edges on the chitin gives off a proper texture feeling ! Really well done, and the blends on the blue part of its head are really good as well, subtle yet vibrant !
It feels alien and yet realistically organic.
Today I have time and working over this fella. I make few errors on his green and fixing it. I'm pretty surprised how heavily good tools affect quality of paintjob. I bought set of soft drybrush and stippling brushes. It's cost me another kill team I don't buy but it's a game changer.
After fixing body and do some work over claws and talons I'm almost happy with how he is looking.
Spoiler:
At last photo there is too hard contrast and hard blend of dark and light blue cause of my phone cheaper than kill team box
As always I wish you live some salty feedback on paintjob. You criticism helping make minis better

After a terrible megabattle playtest, I no longer like Baneblades.
I hope the Tyranid eats it.

I'm sorry but I don't have anything salty to say about your work ! It looks amazing to me, love the blends ! On the red brown part it does look like a genuine bug carapace.
I personally love the hard contrast on the blue part and if I had to force myself to find something odd, I'd say may be the fact that the snout/face is a different, slightly lighter shade of green than the rest of the body.. but then again. That may be the light or even your own preferences so..

Due to fact I'm moving to KT and BA Baneblade is luxury terrain now what happened on playtest?
We used some proxies and ran a playtest of the Tanksgiving megabattle.
My Tau Broadside was vaporized on turn 1 by a Baneblade.

Amazing update!
Thanks for feedback, yeah I make snout a bit different cause other way it's blend too much with other green.
As for blue it's took really great toll of time. In fact blue Bart's are 6 colour blue-green like SoH few blue and violet. May be there is simpler way but I don't know. But without this mess it's looks dull
