With all the other things to shoot at, I thought that my Broadside sitting in ruins wouldn't be high on the targeting list.

I can only agree, the color transitions look really well made. Do you use dry brushing to do it or some Kind of wet blending technique?

Also the paint scheme itself is well designed. Something quite different from the usual I have seen on Tyranids. Well done.
Edit: And as said before: the carapace looks very natural.

@ Lathe Biosas: You can tell yourself that Guardsmen are just scared out of their minds by Tau armor. Thats why they prioritize you above all else. Tau is best

It depends, carapace drybrushed, head is stippling and glazing, arms all

Today I start working over Feltalon and stop cause don't understand yeat how make it right. I don't like how his venom sucks look on GW photos. I have vague idea what I want but need decide technical solution how make it. Instead I'd get first ITD set from shelf(I have 2, wanna make second chaos styled) and start bashing base coat. It's already primed with green. Today I found my painting limit almost 9 hours monotonously painting set with single colour.

Also found 4 really good metallics I have for almost a year and never open them for some reason(maybe because they in small black cellophane bag on the bottom of box )

Have some time today and made progress over ITD terrain set., at least now I know how I want it to looks.


Also played with paints and found recipe I wanted for Raveners and ordered missing paints.

Love the combination of colours ! That blue and green go very well together ! Love the bronze and details !

Thanks, this is metallics I talking about earlier. The blue is actually also metallic but my phone some how make it plane blue.
I have 2 sets of Gallowdark and trying painting them quick and without much effort. So go with all metallic I have to same time with highlights

I'll return to Raveners and may be few more kill teams when won my crusade against ITD terrain set. Some how it's consume insane amount of time. I'd already spend more then 40 hours on it.

Once i found my old d666 table for IG name generation I'll name everyone...
Jokes aside i have some fluff for my IG, T'au, and Nids splinter fleet and even for every character in IG forces and T'au sept. it's required some refinement, and reorganization. But tbh idk if someone need it on dakka and where(which section) to post it

And I'm sure some others would like this as well. But then again I feel the same way so I don't fully commit to it ahah.

May be once a project is done you can compile them in a showcase blog and add some lore to them as well as you see fit ?

I would love to read it. Feel free to just post it here oder in Dakka fiction. But I personally prefer it when hobby-blog and lore blog are the same. Gives both more substance.

Nice work, that Tyranid scheme looks great! The gradient on the claws looks amazing, and the carapace highlights are really realistic looking.

Make sure and buy some 2nd Company Ultramarines too!

I do hope they sell the humans separately from the kit. They'd be perfect for any guard army.

Ok, painting gallowdark is too tiring so I switching back to my nids.
I wanna each and every guy in KT have own features according to their specialization so now it's felltallon and I struggling to understand what's wrong with his fell talon. I painted one and now I look closely, trying to figure out what's wrong.

Any suggestion can help or route me right way.

I think it's the scythes. Compared to the other bug, they look a little dull. Maybe you could try drybrishing with a slightly more saturated yellow

That's a good idea, I'll try use same yellow as I use for venom sacks

Exactly what I think as well ! The blending is amazing on the tallon but the others look may be too green.
If you go for the bone/ivory colours for all scythes might be interesting to add some sort of glazing on the fell tallon to differentiate it/ emphasize venom oozing from it ?

Yes, that's exactly what I meant with the scytes. Looks amazing. Not that it didn't look amazing beforehand but I think that more saturated yellow did the trick. But I second SarpedonofSotha, some glistening venom would look cool too

I guess our comments came from the assumption that all the claws were done not that they were just base coated anyway amazing job ! Amazing blending!
