Hello!

I've read up to book 14 of the HH series and have enjoyed almost every book so far. But now my journey into the series seems to be at and and since it's impossible to find most of the remaining some 50 or so books in printed form. I've tried audiobooks or e-books but I find both those formats extremely unapealing. I'd bulk buy all the books I don't own if only they were every released in printed form again. Is there any news or indication at all that the books will ever be released in physical form again?

It's popular so its very likely to get consumer as well as limited edition reprints - but yeah its a big series.

On the subject of e-books did you try reading on PC/Tablet or an actual e-reader. My experience is that most people who try an actual e-ink e-reader (like a Kindle or Kobo) find ebooks fantastic for novels. Heck for long series its awesome just grabbing the next book and continuing on in seconds.

Sure its not the same as paper, but if you can't get the latter then ebooks are invaluable.

Again I would recommend trying with an actual e-ink e-reader rather than table or such.

I tried reading on a tablet and that was quite unpleasent, which it not very surprising. I've tried e-ink readers in the past and it was pleasing for the eyes but...I've read many hundreds of books since I was a kid and I very strongly prefer to have the physical book in my hands. There is something about holding, flicking the pages and go back and forth in a real book that I just don't get from digital platforms.

I guess I'll have to be either very patient, waiting for GW to reprint the books, or give an e-ink reader another go.

The books regularly come up for auction on eBay. You can set an alert to your email to watch for them.

Yes, I've seen that. But I'd prefer a new book in good shape that is reasonably priced. Some of the books in the HH series are auctioned off for absurd prices. I don't understand why GW just doesn't order a new massive reprint as the books as they have, as proven by their scarcity, sold very well. I'm sure they also fuel mini sales. I myself got back into buying and painting 40k after I read the first two books.

They are sort of doing that, as they are republishing the 12 good ones, perhaps realising that there's some real dreck in the series.

I also want to join the recommendation for an e-Ink reader. I loathe reading on a tablet, but after getting a Kobo reader I think I may actually prefer it to paperbacks. The key thing is to get one with as few features as possible, ideally not even with a colour screen.

Not to derail the thread, but are those compatible with PDFs and ePubs? I have a truckload of old WDs I'd like to be able to read on an e-reader

Yes, ePubs are sort of their native format and they work extremely well. PDFs work fine, but since PDF layout and pagination is fixed and often assumes A4 paper (well, scientific papers do anyway) they are not quite as pleasant to read.
