Lou Zocchi passed away last week. Apologies if this is a repeat.

His wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lou_Zocchi

He was a game designer, writer, publisher, and dice manufacturer. I have a few sets of his Gamescience dice in my collection. I had a few conversations with him at GenCon over the years.

Super nice guy who really enjoyed gaming and had a passion for dice.

Heard about Zocchi, was going to post here but somehow forgot. I had thought he passed away years ago, but apparently it only just happened. He invented the 100-sided die (the zocchihedron), and he was involved in designing some of the original plastic starship miniatures from Star Fleet Battles (I can't recall how he was involved, only that the minis were referred to as the Zocchi plastics).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):

Years ago when I was in Afghanistan I received an mp3 player from my Dad. There was a lot of David Allan Coe on it, maybe a best of album. Very very spicy.

Donald Gibb, probably best known for playing Ogre in the '80s comedy Revenge of the Nerds, has passed at age 71.

He also played bit parts in a lot of other movies and TV shows. RIP.

To me, he'll always be Jackson, who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by showboating against a seemingly defeated/wounded Chung Li in the Jean Claude Van Damme classic, and dubiously alleged true story, "Bloodsport".

I actually met him once. I got him to sign my DVD of season one of the X-Files. His only appearance in the series, it holds a specific place in my heart. The episode takes place at Lake Okaboji in Iowa, very near me. However, it was filmed on the east coast of Canada, and we all laughed at the lake (in ultra flat Iowa) being surrounded by mountains, cliffs, and fir trees.

As Gibb's signature is relatively big, I'm hoping to one day get David Duchovny to sign it very, very small under Gibbs signature, just for the laughs.

I literally came here to post this, as I just heard about it. Horribly sad, he was only 2 years older than me. I used to watch NASCAR a lot and remember his name coming up quite a bit.

I don't participate in NASCAR but even I have heard of him.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
