Inquisitors you say? I'm in with these two hunters:

There are so many cool proofs already, I can't wait to see everything all painted up!

Also, for folks new to using the site/gallery, when copy/pasting links from the gallery into this thread, it's usually best to use the "medium (up to 600px)" size or else it blows up the formatting of the whole thread page for small screens (like phones).

I was a dumb git and forgot to post a before photo after stripping the paint off the model and priming it, so hopefully these photos after being primed are acceptable.

Still trying to figure out which of the three back pieces I have that I'll use, as he'll be a chaos lord with jump pack. Probably one of the two jump packs I 3d printed ( the other one is the original )

Evening all,

Little update on my two minis:

Just some base coating and so on for now. I'm thinking the mane of the beast will be a purpley colour (also needs a name! Suggestions welcome!) I'm hoping that looks like a decent fur effect.

Cheers for now.

Finished my hunters. Need to work on the hunted. That and my lighting as the metallic finish of the aliens is washed out.

I'll put forward Boss Snikrot for consideration by the jury then:

WIP of my Necrosphinx:

Lots more to do on this thing, but the stone "skin" and most of the gold is blocked in. I'm going to do the wing "feathers" and the blades, plus maybe a couple of other details in bronze, so those haven't been done yet. And then of course there'll be all the small details all over this thing...

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Quick reminder that we are halfway though the month. Plan your progress accordingly.

I might end up switching my entry to the free mini of the month Votan Jager. We’ll see what ends up happening.

Whoopsie, forgot to post the "before" picture.

Here is my entry for the month, 4 of my cursed city set (about time I start theses guys) Below the primed version then current WIP. I was trying the 'underpainting' style but it turned quite differently, though I'm kinda happy with the result for now.

OH yeah! much better!
Yeah, picture taking is an entire section of hobby, especially with limited space.
I built this light box, and decided to post up update https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/790851.page It is OK, but it is small, and I do not have good lights. I did invest into a good camera, but I lack the knowledge and experience with it, and lack funds for a better lens. and my phone camera is even worse, I feel you man. Most of the time I do not know what I am doing with the camera.

Time rolls forward. What I think of primed is a sold layer of a flat color. But with things then zenith highlights, not all primes are even these days. You are fine.

Captain Edgar Magpye and The Beast are 99% completed. I might piddle about the with base a little bit over the remaining time for this month.

First proper go at NMM so I think it turned out okay.

Going away at the end of the week, so no idea if I’ll get this guy finished in time, but we just started playing Oathsworn and I had great fun running the Cur, who also seems to be a great example of a hunter.

Proof:

And some progress:

Daia T'Nara - Chaos Dreadnought
Spoiler:

Not my cleanest work - because I'm on the bit of the spectrum that thinks optimisation is cool for its own sake this was also my entry for the vehicles/monsters portion of my local group's Ready Ranks challenge, which meant I only had this week and last to paint instead of the whole month, and I didn't want to go to the effort of a full strip down so I just painted over the original paint job and slightly wonky assembly (including what I'm guessing is a scratchbuilt grenade launcher on top? It's fine, I like that the mini has history). It's fine, I picked this up in a batch of four so if I ever want to do a maximum-effort chaos dreadnought I still can with one of the others.

Ugh, it's been so damned hot lately that I'll be lucky if I finish my astropath. I didn't even start the Squat acolyte.

Yeah feeling that myself, just finished the base coat finally last night - not even cleaned up where I spilled outside of the lines yet. Is what happens when you change your color scheme plan 3 times and decide to throw in several other models to paint alongside it and then for some reason decide each of them will only have 1 or 2 colors connecting them to the others. I feel I spent more time deciding what color clothes I wanted a model to wear than I have ever done with myself.

Same. It doesn't help that I'm wrapping up life stuff. I'm probably going to put this project on hold for now until I have more time to work on it and my new paints come in
