Howdy Dakka Fans,

Well, in honor of Dakka's upcoming 10 year anniversary (oh, am I old) I decided to take the opportunity of some increased time over the Labor day weekend to sneak in some Dakka changes.  Yes, more of 'em.

Unlike Dakka big upgrades in the past, however, I'm making sure that we don't loose any kind of major data... No lost usernames, posts, PM's, pictures, etc.  At least not a lot.

Keep an eye on the Dakka front page for the latest developments, but if you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please post 'em here.

Thanks for your patience and support over the years,

Russ "Yer 'umble webmasta" Wakelin

All I can say its that its looking great and also totally working.

Keep it up and we´ll live to see 20.

With the galaxy as large as it is the odds of the average guardsmen seeing and fighting a marine or MEQ are relatively slim. Unfortunately the guardsmen in your (and anyone else who plays IG's) army are the REALLY, REALLY LUCKY ones that fight marines ALL the time...

Ah, hate to be the party pooper, but is it possible for messages that have been marked as read to return to not being in bold and for the sidebar to return to the left side? Both make reading the forums much easier...

Otherwise, looking good (if a little green!) Thanks Russ-God of Imperial Dakka Dakka!

Bold New Topics are back (you may need to hit refresh).

I'm still having all posts that have been "read" (or marked as read) in bold text (this after a refresh & restart). New posts do now show up in black, but it's barely distinguishable from the dark grey/brown/green of the subject header text is in. Is it possible to have it so the only messages in bold text are those which haven't been read?

Thanks again Russ!

There isnt any way of saving the time zone settings in the profile manager. I tried changing the time zone settings, then found no way of updating, so I switched to update the profile. That didint work.

I searched for ten minutes before giving up. Either its not there, or the visibility is very poor.

The new(ish) style is very very neat, is the 360 dashboard still about? (i really liked that feature). The new board is faster (for me) than it used to eb as well, plus it actually remembers my log in

all in all keep up the good work and heres to dakka going strong for another 10 years

OK, the Server Timezone settings are finally fixed.  To set YOUR time zone:

  1. Click on your name in the upper right hand corner (in the Green Grid)
  2. Click on "Manage Profile"
  3. Scroll down to bottom
  4. Set Time zone
  5. Click Update

I know this is a little convoluted.  I'll make it easier in the future.

P.S. Yes, the 360 Dashboard will be back as a bonus feature.  Once we get all core Dakka functionality running again.

Hello,

I went through and reset my time zone as Pacific time US. It's still shows the time here as 8 hours ahead of what my time zone is?

Can you D.I.G. it?

Ack!  So, so close!

FYI, Russ - Opera allows me to log in and stay logged in now, but if I try to reply or quote-reply, I get "A critical error has occurred.  Input string was not in a correct format."

Aside from the color scheme, looks like a good overhaul.

*edit: I can't Add New Posts either; same error.
