Just giving you guys the low down from my earlier post of taking Circle toa warmachine tourney. Read below and be amazed!
My army list (with only released minis)
Kaya, WarpWolf, Warpwolf, Tharn Ravagers (4), Argus, Wolves of orboros (6) and Totem Hunter
Game 1: Assassination
Ash' Kreoss "dropnpop" list of DOOOOOM! Since Hordes in general is lacking in toolbox units I had an uphill battle on my hands. I had NO shooting that could take out his army/whittle units down. I ended up losing trying to force Kreoss to feat early, but still lost to the bottle rockets. I game with Ash semi freqently so I knew this was going to be a battle. So I lost 1 point for me 5 for Ash. Good game Ash.
Game 2: Bye
Me vs Me I got a bye game so first win! WOO HOO!
Game 3: Pendulum
Brian's Cryx Army Brians list was a pirate themed list. Very cool!
Skarre, Skarlock, Pistol Wraith, Leviathan, Harrower, Satyxis Raiders, Stalker
The game was fast and bloody, I got first turn and went full bore attack on the Cryx. Brian responded in kind and advanced most of his stuff, but due to my guys being in woods and or stealthed, his shooting was ineffective. On my second turn I charged and Ragered WarpWolf at the leviathan. After all the attacks, the leviathan was nothing more than a pile of wreck. The harrower was charger with a
CMA with the wolves which did nothing more than piss of the jack. Next phase the Harrower killed all the wolves in one go! Ouch. But before my turn ended I was able to get a bead on Skarre with the Totem Hunter. After the dramatic rolling Skarre was left with 5 life points. This was a first time using the Totem Hunter, not bad I must say, but after the tourney Im still 50.50 on him) So Brian's turn came around and used his feat and boosted some other things which left Skarre with 3 life points. Brians advanced saw the demise of the Wolves of Orboros, Totem Hunter recevied som smacking from Skarre that left the Hunter with 3 points of health, the Raiders almost killed the Ragered WWolf, and a Tharn Ravager was plucked off by the pistol wraith. I opened with a Trample with the other WWolf across the Raiders since my Ragered WWolf was not engaged I was able to plaster only 1! So 2 free strikes later the WWolf was virtually unscathed. Thanks to the +2 arm warp! The Ragered WWolf advanced into the Skarlock and Raiders and Opened a Can of whipass and tore the Skarlock a new one! How do you handle all the Radiers surrounding your WWolf? Baying of Choas. Those sissy girls broke and that enabled my other WWolf and free strikes since I was directly behind them. All but the leader died. So on to the coup
de gras, Kaya steps up and hits Skarre for -2
def and
spd. 11 POW plus boosted damage saw 24 damage going to Skarre, which only 4 got through but was enough to end her life. Time was called so we shook hands and said great game to each other. I was able to capture 3 control points during this game as did Brian. Draw until the PGer said you count
VPs to decide. So we went to
VPs. Since Brian totally destoryed the Wolves of Orboros he netted 2
VPs. I calculated 5 for Skarre, 1 Skarlock , 3 Leviathan, 3 Harrower, 2 Satyxs Raiders for a total of 15
vps. So a real win for me
Im a happy panda.
Game 4: King of the Hill
Ryan's Cygnar Seige, Hunter, Lancer, defender, Reinholt, Maxwell Finn, Trenchers
I was lucky enough to get first turn, since Ryan had
AD units. This is where I was thankful that Hordes units are FAST! I was able to move all my units (most of them) up 14" so I was on the hill at the end of my first turn. From here the battle saw my Wolves of Orboros cut in half by Seiges temples of boom (ignored stealth) and heavy damage to my one WWolf. That same damaged WWolf was able to smoke a Hunter and two Trenchers. Finn was being tied up with one Argus, 2 WofOrboros and a Totem Hunter. The Tharn and second WWolf engaged the Defender and Lancer. Time was called and since neither of us had any points for King of the Hill we went to
VPs. The game came down to me netting 2
VPs for the Hunter and Ryan received none. A win for me with a sigh of relief.
The tourney had 10 players not bad for a first tourney
Id say. Had LOADS of fun. I ended the tourney with 16 points and since there was no Khador armies I took the Khador coin. Funny thing is I have a Khador army but I much prefer my Circle. (love the werewolves)
My buddy Ash won overall with 20 points (undefeated-Menoth) My other buddy Christian won the Cyrx coin. So the trifecta won! There's another tourney on October 14th that is an offical mixed
WM and hordes tourney so Ill be looking at getting the Circle Coin.
