Just cribbed this from Gneisenau over at Warhammer-Empire.com:

Just spotted some new pictures:

www.gamesworkshop.de

then klick on "Games Workshop News" and then "Miniaturenvorschau Warhammer" (the first link in the text box). There you are. Three pics of the new box for heroes and lords, and one of the new pistoliers.

It seems that the second pistolier from the left is holding something like a trumpet. Which means...

Rejoice!

Perhaps we'll want those in the compilation topic?

Oh, and sorry General Helstrom, I couldn't help but refer to your sneaky attack on our hopes in your topic

Edit: They seem to be changing the site quite often. If the link disappears, look for "Miniaturenvorschau" in the column of the utmost left, there you can find the pictures under "Warhammer" (obviously...). There's also the full array of pictures already posted in the W-E compilation topic.

I think I might get the Standartenrager just for the baby griffon. But I'm sure I could use the angel of death for something too.

Pretty meh. Just like the orc warboss set.

I think that the only things I really like about the set are the crow and the creepy standard top. The griffin, the massive hammer, the rediculous feathers, etc., it's too much.

That one general has a big hammer. I wonder what he's compensating for?

The baby griffon is cool. Are those pistoliers plastic?

Guinness: for those who are men of the cloth and football fans, but not necessarily in that order.

I think the lesson here is the best way to enjoy GW's games is to not use any of their rules.--Crimson Devil

Me, I'm quite happy with the new sets. Plenty of bits for customizing my champs and heroes. Plus the new plastic horses are looking very solid and chunky, rather than the thin prancy ones they have now.

Most of these are now on the US site as well.

Dude... I think we can make warrior priests with the same set as our standards and generals.

The pistoliers are excellent. Yay stirrups!

I like the mounted characters and the BSB a lot, though I hope the BSB has a normal banner standard option too. At least some of these are plastic, so hopefully that's an option. The wraith standard should make excellet conversion fodder for other armies though, including my Dark Angels.

The only disappointments for me are the general models on foot, who have pretty absurd weapons. That said, they're nice models overall and weapon swaps are the world's easiest conversion, so it's all good.

The variant generals on foot look like they're MEANT to be mounted, they're so bow-legged...

The BSB is SWEET though, and I'll be picking that box up just for the banner top, or bits ordering the sprue it comes on...

My german isn't so great, so where do I go to find the new pics?

They're up on the US Sneak Peeks. I really like the new variation on the unarmored horses- more than just two poses now!

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

Yes, those new horses rock!

And is it just me, or are they trying to make a slightly more realistic scale now? Something seems...*different*...

And plastic pistoliers are sexy!

The Sword the guy is carrying on horseback is massive. Wow. I'd use it as a great weapon, raised in the air one-handed. Or something. It's just huge.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias

That would actually be a great sword. Looks like the old german zweihanders.

I'm loving all the cool little bits in that kit I think I'll buy it just for conversions!

Thats what I'm thinking; would be nice for some of my Empire in Flames guys too.

Hm perhaps 7th Edition will become "Conversionhammer"?

Did the German site have them? I hope they make some different uniform types...the puffy type is fine and all, but dosn't fit for a few army lists I've made up.
